  1. Had my interview today. Went great. They complimented on how well spoken I was. Keep praying and trusting it will come to pass one way or another.
  2. Got an interview today 5/5/11 !
  3. Get to know you type of interview.
  4. A good friend of mine is in the program. Also if you have attended a preview day alot of info is given out then. But if you are really gun hoe you can call up the director and ask what they look for. I would recommend this especially if you dont get an interview. At any school for that matter.
  5. I know they like Certs. Gradute classes. And community service. Also a well rounded Icu experience will help. Stay prayerful. Your time will come.
  6. Hope all your stuff is in, the earlier the better with Union, trust me! I would stay on her till you get a confirmation.
  7. I'm in the same boat, I had to resubmit some stuff since my application was rolled over from the previous year.
  8. They mailed it, which was not till Feb. I guess they wait till they interview.
  9. I just found out today via email that I was offered an interview. Better then the flat out rejection I got last year. Hope for the best!
  10. If you check your email today, you might have good news. I have an interview offer for Uof Maryland. Thank heavens since It is my second year applying, last year I got flat out rejected, no interview, no nothing LOL. Hope to hear more good news from others.
  11. As of today. I'm still waiting to hear yay or nay. Anyone get letters yet? I wish they sent us an email first...think mine got lost. :mad:Wish everyone the best no matter the outcome.
  12. Interviewing is definitly a learned skill. I would spend more time learning about the mechanics of interviewing versus some ramdom questions that you have no control over. All in all it's just a game and you need to have it beat it.
  13. Since you already have a year with adults, getting into school with "current" peds experience should not be a problem. If you want to get your CCRN, best to start studying for that now since it will be fresh. Peds is a whole other ball game and you will need to focus on that. You need to contact each school you want to attend and figure out if they will take PICU. Have fun working with the kidos, atleast you will be comfortable with them by the time you go to school.FYI: highly recommend the having the CCRN before you apply, trust me.
  14. I'm not sure what you are asking but I will take a guess. Many schools look at your science grades and want it to be > 3.0 and your over all gpa the same. The fact that you retook the A&P class speaks volumes. You really need to buckle down and do extremely well in the BSN program. If you have not taken a chemistry class, I would recommend you fit that into your course load.
  15. Macy's had a great sale last week when I went shopping for suits.
  16. I can't promise that they will or will not ask clinical questions. If you have been in the ICU long enough and actually learned something, then you will be fine. I'm glad to have more time to prepare, thats all I can say.
  17. I applied to a NP program just so I can take as many grad courses possible. I am sitting out this semester to prepare for upcoming interviews and starting my new ICU job in the CVICU. I did not graduate with a 4.0, so I had to do something in the meantime to improve my GPA. I was considering getting my FNP first then apply to CRNA as a post masters, but the more I thought about it, just seemed plain silly, and a waste of time and money, knowing that I really want to be a CRNA. Many programs with allow you to transfer some credits, which is a sweat deal. You still have to to "figure things out" and what path to go. Right now you have to cross the hurdle of the NCLEX and landing a job in somebody's ICU. None the less, I wish you the best.
  18. It means all that too. I would take caution applying to a school on probation. I'm not sure they can take new applicants during this time. I would call the school for sure to get more info. Sad to hear because I thought they were pretty legit.
  19. You can never go wrong with a suit. It will set you apart if everyone else is casual. I would sugget investing in a well tailored suit that you are comfortable in. Business colors like navy blue, grey, or black. Wearing a skirt or pants is a matter of preference. Low cut heels is good, something you will not trip in . Last year I wore a black skirt suit with a royal blue coller shirt. Hope this helps and I wish you well with your interview.
  20. You are on a roll, another interview, Congrats! Please email me with how everything went for you this past week in Camden.
  21. I have the perfect book" the Atlas" get you one, so you can enjoy life before school and travel anywhere you want.
  22. It means that they will not be accepting any applicants untill they straighten their act up with the accredidation boards. Thats not a good sign, who wants to graduate from a non-accredidated school?
  23. I will be interviewing this year as well...this is my second go around and believe the last. The interviews were laid back in a since and you pretty much led it yourself. If you can communicate effectivly then you will do fine. Wish you well.
