  2. Hello everyone, My name is Jocelyn and I am currently a nurse in Coeurdalene Idaho. I am a young nurse. I graduated nursing school at 20 and am now 24. I want to apply to CRNA school at Gonzaga but i'm a little discouraged. I feel like I can do anything I put my mind to.... (I have in the past). I worked full time through nursing school and did the RN to BSN program in one year while working (its a two year program). Gonzaga's program I hear only accepts 8 people a year and I know someone who tried to get into their program multiple times and was unsuccessful. He had a 3.5 gpa and i'm not sure what his GRE score was. I currently have not taken the GRE (just graduated the rn to bsn program sunday) and my GPA i'm afraid is going to be low. I know you have to have atleast a 3.2 GPA for gonzaga. My first 2 years of college I unfortunatley had a little to much fun and not enough studying and that is what is bringing my GPA down. In the last three semesters I recieved a 4.0, 3.98, and then this semester I haven't found out yet. If anyone is out there that has been accepted or completed Gonzaga's program would you please let me know what I am up against. I despirately want to do this...but i'm afraid my past is going to haunt me. Thanks Jocie
  3. yoga crna, i am preparing to apply to gonzaga's anesthesia school. i have wanted to go to crna school for a long time. i graduated nursing school with my adn at the age of 20 and then worked for two years and went back to lcsc's rn to bsn program and completed that program in one year (a two year program) along with working. i just graduated with my bsn at the age of 24. i noticed from one of your threads that you teach at gonzaga's program and i wanted to know if you were aware of any classes that i might be able to take prior to being accepted into the program, that are required for the program? if so would you please let me know. you can e-mail me through this. any information you would have would be greatly appreciated!! thanks jocelyn e-mail addresses are not permitted for your safety.

My husband and I have been together for 6 years and married for a year and half. I'm finishing up school my BSN...have had my ADN for 3 years. When i graduate again we want to start having babies... only 2. hehe... anyhow I want to start taking prenatals but i'm unsure of what brand is good. I haven't went and had a preconception visit because we don't want to start for about 6 months.... But i do want to start taking my vitamins. Just wondering if there is any over the counter ones that md's have recommended. Another question... I guess i just wonder when you start to want to get pregnant do you make an appt with your regular family doc and then they refer you to a obgyn? i don't have an ob doc just a primary? Or do i need to set up an appt with an obgyn without a referal? Thanks Jocie
  5. Thats a good one... i get this one as well. I graduated nursing school when i was 20 years old!

okay nursing diagnosis...ots been a long time since i have actually written them... does it go like this: Altered Health Maintenance secondary to (and then my reasons like tobacco use, or lack of self testicular exams?) is that how they are set up or can someone fill me in?
  7. I think pinning cerimony was very important...it means more to me than actual graduation...just cause my class was pretty close... but 250.00...no way i think we payed like 25.00 and that wasn't bad. why are they expecting you to pay so much...not sure its worth that much to be honest.
  8. Well I have been a nurse for 3 years and now i'm going back to get my BSN. In one of my BSN classes I have to write a historical paper on an event or person in nursing history that has influenced the nursing field. Does anyone have any good ideas... i don't really want to do it on anything obvious like Florence Nightengale. Any good ideas let me know.. Thanks Jocie
  9. can you cross reference drugs to see if they are compatable with constellation?
  10. Does anyone know which is better??? The one thing i'm leaning towards skyscape because you don't renew every year??? Does anyone have any promotional codes to save money when buying skyscape? Thanks Jocie

I want to get a PDA to keep with me at work to have books on it to look things up. Does anyone have any advice on what PDA's are good. Thanks Jocie
  12. I found out a passed my boards today. What a relief. I am through that phase of my life and can start planning my wedding with nothing hanging over my head. Jocie
  13. Well, I took my boards today and i'm not really sure how I did. I'm trying not to think about it cause it makes me sick. I had about 85 question and my last one was about DM type 1. I think i got it right. If you get the last question right is that a good sign? Jocie
  14. where were you located at in idaho? I just graduated in idaho and am trying to figure out how much about that I will make?

i'm not sure about pocatello but boise its self it doesn't snow much but if you come over the mountain there is a weather line at the top of horse shoe bend mountian and it snows more on the northern side of that mountain. Boise is warm and rarely snows.
  16. I think one of the biggest risk is giving the wrong med and being in a legal battle.
  17. I'm a nursing student and i'm not forsure through nursing school but my boyfriend just had his out. He is 21 and it was Two weeks and he had postop bleeding. Not a hemorrhage because he didn't lose to much cause we got it to stop with gargling ice water. But it did bleed two weeks after the surgery. Jocie
  18. It doesnt look right when it shows up in the posting so if you need a new example let me know and i can take a digital picture of an example on paper.
  19. This may sound really confusing so i will do a example below but if you have a Ph that is acidotic and a HCO3 that is acidotic and a PCO2 that is alkaline. (which ever one is with the PH is the indicator. IN this case the HCO3 is the same as the PH (acidotic) that means that it is Metabolic Acidosis. If the HCO3 were alkaline and the PH and PCO2 were both acidotic then then it would be respiratory Acidosis. IF the PCO2 and the PH were both alkalotic then it would be Respiratory alkalosis and if the PH and the HCO3 are both alkalotic then it would be metabolic alkalosis. Do a tic tac toe method Acid Neutral Alkaline PH HCO3 PCO2 This one is Respiratory acidosis with partial compensation Acid Neutral Alkaline PH Metabolic Acidosis HCO3 uncompensated because the PCO2 PCO2 is neutral not alkaline This is just a few examples. If you need more help let me know.
  20. Hello everyone... Well i'm going to school right now and will graduate with my RN in may of this year. I'm very excited but a little nervous about boards of coorifice. I see alot of people from Boise area. I'v thought about moving down there but i really like it up here in the north. Not to many job opening up here either but I already work at the hospital as a phlebotomist and have been told it won't be to hard for me to get on as an RN.
  21. Hello there.. I don't go to school at LCSC but my mom went there and graduated in 99. The school is good i do believe... i know that there are alot of people that don't pass the NCLEX the first time from there but there are also alot of people that do. I do know it is pretty hard to get into their program. After you pass the NCLEX you take the test in which ever state you want to be certified in. Once you have taken the test you have to apply for your washington license. You don't have to take another test you just have to pay money. I go to school at NIC in Coeurdalene and Its really hard to get in up here as well. Our program is fairly hard and they have had a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX the last 3 years. The program up here you learn alot but you have to be very flexible because they change your schedule alot through out the two years. It is only a associate degree as well. You can continue to get your BSN through a outreach program affiliated with LCSC up here in Coeurdalene. Its just another option.
