PDA for FNP school
I will probably be switching to Blackberry in Oct. of 2010 due to contract obligations and my cheapness in not wanting to give ATT any more money than they earn. I have used Epocrates for several years but, currently considering changing to Skyscape a service which cost more. However, the information contained is more complete information http://www.skyscape.com/estore/ProductOverview.aspx. I hope this helps. i currently use a Centro and will change due to the keys being so small.

Do stethoscopes expire!
I would get a new one as well, not being sure how the stethoscope was stored. I do know after years of carrying my stethoscope around my neck, the tubing does get hard thus the thing is harder to hear through.

Mandatory Flu shots
How about the potential adverse reaction of anaphylaxis? I had a coworker sent to the ED with arm swelling and difficulty breathing minutes after receiving her first flu shot. We have been given the mandate either take the flu shots at one time 3 in total the regular flu shot and 2 swine flu shots or wear a mask from Oct. 1 to April 1. I am wearing the mask.

ADN or MSN
the program you choose will depend on how soon you need to return to gainful employment, the adn will take 1 year, diploma will take in the area of 2-3 years and the degree will be atleast 4 years. many hospitals are going to the requirement of the bsn (4 year) while in my humble opinion the diploma is the best trained nurse if you can find a program.
