Some Advice Please
You should contact the anesthesia program directors. They could offer more concrete answers to your questions. Some programs may overlook the "F" and understand that some people were not as focused as they should have been. Other programs may advise that you retake the class. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

Pregnancy and Nursing School
My pregnancy came as a very pleasant surprise. I had just transferred from a university on the other side of the state. My husband and I moved so he could go to grad school. Well, I was notified that I had been accepted into the BSN program, and at the same time I found out I was pregnant. I was torn, however, the professors told me that they would work with me. So I went for it. I went to all of my classes on my due date...it was the right in the middle of my first semester in the program. I took two weeks off. I missed three final exams and a couple of quizzes, however, my professors were so very understanding. I made them up them up by the end of the month. I nursed my son for approximately 6 months. I was able to pump during all of my clinical rotations in L&D. Luckily, my pump was compatible with the hospital grade....I could just bring my attachments and connect. Know that I had many sleepless nights. My son did not sleep through the night until he was one. Money was a little tight, but we made it work. I had a very healthy pregnancy, and I mananged to keep my grades up. It is doable, but also a challenge

many rejection letters crying all day..
Alansmith52, I don't completely agree with you. First of all, you must take into consideration that some people have families. To uproot your spouse who has an excellent job, with great benefits, doing what they love, seems unfair and selfish. In addition, some people have children who are in grade school....that have friends and have developed a pattern of normalcy. This, too, seems unfair. Also, take into account that some people choose particular schools for a reason. If you choose to send a large number of applications...that's your business and there's nothing wrong with doing it that way. However, some people choose to send applications to schools that they truly feel fit them. No excuses....just personal preference.

What is a day in the life like?
Hello to all! I was wondering if any CRNAs could give me a detailed account of what a day is like. I have shadowed several CRNAs, however I did not follow them from preop to post op. Take for example, an open heart case or any type of general surgery, what types of medication do you use to begin with? To maintain? To end? Do most of you intubate and start pressure lines on your patients prior to the procedure? Any information is greatly appreciated! :)

BSN sophomore standing for CRNA apps
MJB, I have a question for you. What do you truly want for a career? I think you need to seriously step back and take a good, hard look at your desires for a career. Just from your posts alone, I get a feeling that you really don't want to become a CRNA. Sounds like this is someone else's dream for you. Looking back to high school, I can honestly say that I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I decided to major in finance because I was good with numbers. Then, like a lightbulb, it became clear that I wanted to be a nurse. So I followed that path. Life is constantly taking you to a crossroad....you must decide which path is BEST for YOU and DON'T let anyone PUSH you the wrong way. In addition, if becoming a CRNA is what YOU want, take it one day at a time. You have the rest of your life ahead of you....don't be in a rush as this will most certainly be your downfall. As for the hardships you have experienced.....take from them and become stronger.....life experiences, both positive and negative, contribute greatly to who you are. Try not to use your hardships for sympathy, instead grow from them. I wish you the best of luck in your journey through life. Remember, everything happens for a reason!
