#1 mistake that you made was that you gave a verbal order for a treatment and you was not on the clock, nor a NP or a PA( someone that can legally can give a order) #2 mistake was if this person, said that he/she had a PhD and gave advice for the treatment, than you should have left that alone #3 Never identify yourself as a nurse, unless you are asked for the information.....you can embarrass yourself when the next person holds credentials that is higher than what you have....... Lesson learn..............

Good Job!!!!!! from an old school nurse there was one thing that you should and could have done before the next, was to fix his doboff. That is what the state would call a delay in treatment, somethings just should not be passed to the next shift.....this is just a FYI for the next time..........

Stay where you are at the pay is not worth it. I just left Florida.....

I just moved from Florida,the weather is beautiful,but the pay is nothing. I heard that NJ was one of the high paying states for LPN's. As an LPN I took a drastic pay cut moving to Florida from northern state.

I am really shock,I read each and every comment for this survey and did not see one RN or LPN comment from Dover,Delaware area. What happened?

That is sad because LPN's are being treated like they are uneducated as far as RN's are concern. Do you know I have had several patients refuse to have a new RN take care of them.Many would rather have an LPN with experience than an RN with no experience.As an LPN myself, sometimes I have to catch myself and just stand back and listen to the things that the RN be saying about LPN"s, but when they do not understand something who do the RN go to. In my years as an LPN I have trained and SUPERVISED RN's. And yes, LPN can do assessments, whoever told you that they couldn't then they need to go back to school and if it's in the text books then something is wrong. What do you think that an LPN do when one of her patient's condition changes and the LPN has to call the doctor and explain that change to the doctor? When an LPN do treatments, who assess that wound, do you think she/he stop and call for the RN? My list can go on and on at what the LPN do assess, without the help of an RN. If you take a vote you will be surprise at the number of LPN's vote that they have to do assessments.

I would like to know if anybody heard of the school RTI in Winter Haven,Florida and if so how was the RN program?

What I am asking? when you have 28-30 patients and they all have the meds schedule for 8am..yes you might be able to get to 3 patients by 8:30 but now it's 10 and you are still passing meds. What happen to the 1 hour before and 1 hour after time frame?

I like it but it is very hard..alot of work but since you have some transfer credits it might noy be so hard for you,but for a person who has been out of school for years than yes,it will defianitely be a challenge.

Welcome to Florida..I also moved from another state to attend Galen/Tampa Bay the LPN-RN program. I am presently in the program... housing is all about what you are looking for..apartment,condo,renting a house...the area that is not too far from the school is St. Petersburg,Tampa(if you do not mind driving over 30 minutes or more),Pinellas Park. When are you going to start?

I am not afraid of anything I am totally clean....my thoughts of a background check was just past employment and criminal activties..but the person I had the discussion with said that everything in a person life can be found when a job do a background check.

Confused I had a discussin today and became totally confuse about a background check that employers do on new employees. I need to know who is right about what can be found on a background check.

Do you have to list the employer if you worked less than 4 months for them?
