That is your name so they can check into other names you have used whilst being licensed

I believe each state is different. You only way you would know is going through CGFNS and get your qualification assessed to see if you meet the criteria. You can not take the NCLEX unless you meet the requirements to register in the state of choice. The NCLEX is part of the registration process.

Mine was done through Nebraska in April and took 2 days from submit to processed. Don't know if this helps you

I have got to say without our support workers it would be a hard job. Our support workers are very much involved in our team and very respected after all without them we wouldn't get full care for the patient. I know what you mean regarding families, we get this on our unit where they are rude and abusive to staff. Although the nhs apparently have a no abuse towards staff management are very reluctant to go down the route to get them removed from the unit.

I currently work in an intensive care area within the NHS and besides he odd few doctors nurses are very much respected within our roles. After all the doctors would not be able to provide a lot of the treatments if it wasn't for nurses. The doctors where are work are very respectful of workloads and will often help out he nurses with drugs and obs of needed. I can say I have worked in three different trust and never not been respected by the team you work with. As silver dragon said management are a different matter but that the same in any job you could work in.

You will find that if you are new to the NHS most trust outside of London will start you in the first starting point of band 5 and this will increase with performance review on a yearly basis. On top of the basic pay we do get unsocial hours payments as well depending on the shifts you work.

I have been through the process of cgfns and taken and passed my nclex. I am a uk nurse but adult branch the process for me once quick but was done back in 2009. Good luck Have your family sponsored your visa because there is currently retrogression so will not be able to move straight away. You will have to wait for a visa to become available and at present the family sponsored visa have not moved for mNy months.

They may ask something on the lines of since Frances report what changes have been made on the unit and how is this improving patient cares, do you do the nursing dashboards in your hospital are you passing these. They may want to ask if you could change something on the unit what would it be and how would you go about it. There may be scenarios also. You are reading on the right lines good luck

You can look at leadership and how to become a good leader you need to gain the trust of the band 6's already on the unit whilst them also gaining trust within you. You have to be approachable and supportive to the band 5's on the unit. I would look at the Frances report and bring this in to your presentation because the downfalls were the lack of leadership. Do not make a new cgfns account I done this and it caused a lot of problems when trying to get my credentials evaluated. Any changes you wish to make to your account need to be done in writing to cgfns do not make another order unless the previous one gets deleted because any payment will go towards previous order. Sorry talking from experience with this and ended up talking to a manager in cgfns for nearly 2 hours to sort my account out.

Thanks for your reply. I was ready to stay here and let my husband go and work over there. I will get all the paperwork and start the process now so I have all my registration in place before we go. Then I believe I need to go to the board for show identification documentation before I am provided with a license if I correct. Please correct me if I am wrong. This is going to be a big change for me because we were going to America and now everything changed. Thank you

I don't mind travelling to work. I have been making a 150mile round trip to get to work here so not to worried about travelling to work. But thanks for your reply. I will get my registration and then maybe approach some hopsitals as suggested. Do I need to take the English language test to register with the board or is this just for inmigration.

Hi I am getting replies on this thread saying that I will not get looked at without registration. Having already been through the long drawn out process to register in America I am expecting it to be the same for Australia. I have never said that I am going to look for jobs without registration all I wanted to know was whether I could get employment in Australia in particular Brisbane as an experienced neonatal nurses. But having read other threads and how people have replied saying not to come to Australia. I will take the answer as a no. I will now look at staying in the UK with my son. I never said once in this thread that I would try to obtain employment without registration and I did say this would be sought before we left. My husband is not going until 2016 so I have plenty of time to get that sorted but now think it will be safer to stay in the UK.

May look at staying in the uk to risky and not willing to give up my career. Thanks for your reply

It really depends how long ago you completed your diploma in nursing. You need to have taken the adult route of nursing and this needed to include paeds, mental health, and obs. When I gained my registration through the state of Vermont I had adequate hours for this, my university was one that still had placements and theory in all the areas required. California can be very complex to get in to at present. I have gone through the whole process and also currently hold a visa screen certificate but I am giving up my dream now of the USA due to a job offer for my husband in Australia. So if all goes to plan we will be moving out there instead. I am really sad to be giving up my dream been on the journey for many years now but due to retrogression and no jobs or sponsorship my dream is over.

Hi all Well never thought I would be in this forum but I am going to be now due to my husbands job. My husband is taking up a research job in Brisbane and me and my son will be coming over with him. I am an RN with 7 years experience, I have a significant amount of that time working in a tertiary neonatal unit level 3 with surgical and medical babies. I have also completed my masters neonates. Do you think it will be difficult for me to find a job with my experience. I have looked at the registration for nurses and have all the form to complete. Would it be best to look for a job before we leave or wait until we are over there. Hope you can help, we were on track to go to USA but due to this fantastic offer out path is going to change.
