  1. Diese; power generation engineer.
  2. I am starting to get a little not happy about some of the crudity coming from some male members of AN. Lets lighten up and just all be sensible---please.
  3. CARRN---The Canadian Association of Rural and Remote Nurses could give you good info. They are much like our CRANA---Council of Rural and Remote Nurses of Australia, of which I am a member. I live in an isolated part of Australia and am on call 24/7. It is not a job for a newcomer. To run an ER situation with multiple patients is hard, particularly when you may have to let one patient terminate so as to save maybe 2 others. Look up CRANA.ORG, it's interesting. Michael
  4. In Western Australia, a nurse or Ambulance Officer is deemed a public officer. A verbal assault is worth 6 months in jail. Physical assault is good for 3 years. I have been assaulted, mostly by drug affected pts. We are not allowed to retaliate but SURPRISE!! we generally come off in front. We call it "medical restraint"
  5. I was diagnosed as hypothyroid 3 years ago by a doctor in Hedland. He basically told me at my age [61] to get over it and just live with it!!!!! I have a lovely young female pharmacist in Hedland [she is Dutch] and she put me on Zinc and Kelp [iodine] tabs and 3 years down the track I am fine. That young Dutch girl has done more for me than a lot of doctors:yeah: So, I hope you get all well soon. When in doubt, get a second opinion-----you are entitled to it;)
