  1. as i said, i dont guarantee that it will help you but i only used those modules to study since i was working fulltime as a cna before i took my boards. i also used my notes when i was still in school and i passed my boards with flying colors. i don't mind spending money if its gonna help me. im one of those students who wants and likes to study but doesnt have time to do it. but thank God Im an LVN now and got a job offer as soon as i passed my boards. goodluck to everyone... remember, just believe in youself and study. do whatever works for you. doesn't matter what books or modules you use. in the end, its still how you answer those questions that makes you a safe nurse on the field.
  2. here's the website: http://www.mo-media.com/nclex by mometrix media. they have the pn and rn modules. > and I'm so sorry for those asking the modules. I can't forward it to everybody. It has copyright issues and really it's up to you how you study. Those modules helped me but I won't guarantee that its gonna help you. Goodluck to those taking the test and those who are still waiting for the results.
  3. What I've heard is that once the computer determines that hey this student is safe on the field and yes he/she grasp nursing, its gonna ask you hard questions only to see how far your limit is but its for sure that you will pass. On the other hand, if it keeps going, no worries. You haven't failed yet. Its only trying to determine how far you can go. There's a certain level that every candidate must meet in order to pass. My test stopped at 85 and I had 15 SATA and I thought I failed coz there's a big chance that I will miss something or I will click onto something unrelated to the question. Thank God I passed the first time. My advice to those whose taking the test, no way you can be prepared but atleast asked yourself, have you studied enough that you can tell yourself if you pass, you studied hard, if you fail, atleast you studied hard and you tried. > about the pearson vue trick, no doubt that it works. A lot of people have done it including the ones that failed. If you get the pop up, you pass. If it lets you pay again, only means you failed. No need to reregister again if you passed. After all, we all took a computerized test. They know the moment it shuts down. The state just wants clarification and verification thats why it takes a month for the results. Hope this info helps. Thanks allnurses.com, you guys make the future nurses feel at ease in times when we need someone to talk to but no one understands better than the ones whose having the same experience that we are going through. >I started orienting on a LTC a week after I had my results. I dont have my license yet but I got an offer so I went and took it. Advice for those who pass and can't get a job, take anything on whatever it is on the table, even if its a lesser pay, get some experience then after you feel comfortable on the field, fly away and ask for a bigger pay. Its really hard to get a job if your a new grad. Atleast get some experience as I said then go from there. Hope this info helps.
  4. I took 6 days review at my school, I read some modules that I purchased online then I did couple questions on saunders & lippincott cds. I'm not one of those students who did thousands of questions. I did less than 500 probably. I was lazy and I was working a lot of hours as a cna. Those modules really helped me. I just kept reading the 158 pages of notes on those modules for 2 weeks and it made me take my test easy that I thought I failed coz I was done in less than 30 mins. I passed my nclex pn at 85 and got lucky on my first try. Depending on how you learn stuff, that's how you should study so you don't get too much headache. If your a visual learner then read. If your auditory, there's clips on eri to listen to. It summarizes everything we've studied in school. I can email you the modules that I used to study for my test if you want. :nuke:
  5. I said I'll let you know if I passed and yeah!!! After 18 days of waiting here in CA, finally my NCLEX PN reults came... I was happy I didnt get the 3 white papers. I got the greens and got a small envelope asking me to pay for my license. If you stopped at 85 and unsure of what you did, try the trick. It really works!!! Im one of those 3 to 4000 people who can say its true. Good luck to those taking the test. Have faith in yourself. We all deserve to pass!!!
  6. I know!!! Im so happy I passed!!! and thanks for being supportive too. Im finally a nurse! Yeah!!! Im persuing my career to a RN or BSN in a year or two. I'll get experience first as an VN then go from there. :wink2:
  7. You'll be fine. I heard kaplan is good. Just keep practicing questions everyday. Goodluck to you. Make sure you study infection control, meds, pharm and what nurses should monitor for certain diseases so you're kinda prepared for it. But to top it all, just trust yourself you can do it. You've been in school for a long time. Its not like you dont know it, you just need refreshments and reinforcements so you can remember everything and trust me, you think you dont know it but you do and you will. Best of lucks for you and to all whose taking the boards. We all deserve to pass. :wink2:
  8. I got my results for my NCLEX PN here at CA after 18 days of waiting. I got my results on a weekend too. I PASSED!!! Yeay!!! :wink2:
  9. I passed!!! Yeay!!! And yes, I stopped at 85, I felt it was hard and I felt like I bombed it but I've tried the trick and I got the pop up! Only makes sense coz you don't have to re-register once you pass! I got lucky on my first try! Thank you Jesus!!! Im sooo happy I passed!!! :wink2:
  10. YEAY!!!! I PASSED!!! The trick worked for me!!! If you get the pop up, that means you passed coz you don't have to re'register and take it again!!! Im sooo happy!!! :wink2:
  11. I took my NCLEX PN last June 30th and I haven't heard from the boards yet. Some people say they got their results in 2 weeks or less. But on the ncsbn website, it could take up to a month to 6 weeks since CA doesn't participate in quick results. My tests stopped at 85 and i got a lot of sata's, infection control, rooming in, 1 math and a lil meds. Mostly prioritization. I've also tried the trick and i got the famous pop up. I'll let you know when I get my results if the trick really works. Goodluck to us all... And thanks to allnurses.com. Its the only thing keeping me sane while waiting. lol
  12. here's how to the famous trick 1. Login to your pearsonvue account. 2. Click on register 3. Try and go ahead and make another schedule 4. Answer those questions where it asks you have you taken the exam before, etc 5. When you get the pop up that says you have recently scheduled this exam, contact your boards for more info then supposedly, you passed. **If it lets you pay again, the 200 dollars you paid before, then you might have probably failed. Im really hoping this trick works. I live in CA so I have to wait for atleast a month. I've gone crazy to insane. Huhuhu...
  13. You got it right! LOL! Do your best each questions and if you pass 75 and it still keeps asking you questions, sit back if your tired for a minute and answer each questions carefully because you haven't failed yet if you keep getting questions. Once you pass 75, try to answer each questions carefully as the computer is trying to determine whether you grasp nursing or not. My friend went all the way to 265. She told me when the computer said she can take a break, she went and washed her face, took a deep breathe and told her self she will pass. After all, most of the good nurses on the field didn't pass the first time. Goodluck!! :nuke:
  14. Which one are you taking? RN or PN? Good luck!!! Follow what your gut says if it ask you a question you don't know. And take your time answering each question. Don't look at which one is the answer. Weight each options first then pick your best answer. May God and the angels be with you. Good luck again. :nuke:
  15. If you were to ask me, my answer is no. No way someone feels prepared for the boards. Yes, they may feel ready as they go inside the test room but I guarantee you, once the hard questions pops up, they're gonna wish they could have studied more. LOL!!! :lol2:
  16. I'm really desperate for my results!!! I've been waiting for 2 weeks and I can't think of anything else except whether I pass/failed. I did the trick and i got the famous pop up but how reliable is it? I think I just need a break. But how??? Oh lord. I've gone crazy to insane. I've been waiting for 408 hours and six minutes. Arghhh... :yldhdbng::hpygrp:
  17. Hey justwannab09!!! I knew you'd make it! Congratulations!! :clphnds: Im really hoping that the trick works for me too. I'm really anxious and stressed out waiting already. My life is depending on it. :yldhdbng:
  18. Don't lose hope. And don't let other people bring you down. Instead, use them as a negative reinforcement for yourself like I did. Prove them wrong. What they do to discourage you is called INSECURITY!!! You got something they don't have and that's the hope and perseverance that you can do it. As long as you have a goal, you don't have to be smart to be a nurse. Just have the heart and passion and you'll succeed. :nuke:
  19. Im sorry for the late response. Im wishing you goodluck. I got chest tube images and chart images and you click on which order wiukd you question the doctor. I also had one drag where you have to arrange the steps on putting sterile equipments on a sterile field. My test was hard according to what i've been reading on the posts that other people had on theirs. Im wishing myself a goodluck too.
  20. I wish I can but I don't think CA does that. I've tried the trick though. Its my only hope... Good luck to you too. :nuke:
  21. I took my NCLEX PN here in CA last June 30th. Most posts got theirs in less than 2 weeks. I wanna know how long did it take before you got your results? Is it true it takes a lil longer if you failed it??
  22. I gained 20 lbs too... 22 to be exact. Haha!! LOL!! Your funny. I love how your post takes me away from thinking i failed mt nclex-pn. I was working as a cna full time while in school. I even worked double shifts then go to clinicals straight after work and basically trying to stay up more than 24 hours but I made it. I took a lot of caffeine, lots of energy shots and ate lots of quick foods. My teacher even came up with our food diary and we all found out that all we eat was crap but those times, i was living by myself, i was really determined to pass school and not be late on rent and bill payments. Thank God i work in SNF as a CNA, they were really nice to let me study for an hour or two as long as my patients are sleeping and dry. If i didnt gain this much weight, I would have passed out and not made it through nursing school. HAHA!!! Im starting to lose em now. But it sure is worth it eating peanuts and crackers just to stay up or chewing a gum and getting nagged by the doctor coz i chew too much. HAHAHA!!! Those were the days. I kinda miss those days. :lol2:
  23. I took my NCLEX-PN 2 weeks ago. Here's what I have to say about your posts... Study the common diseases and their symptoms b'coz once you hit the satisfactory level, the computer will give you harder ones and one of them is SATA questions or select all that apply. Do it like a true or false question. If you have no idea what is being asked, relax. Make an educated guess. Follow what your guts says. Saunders and Lippicott prepares you to answer mostly the type of questions like "as a nurse, what should you do?". Prioritization is a huge part of the test for most people who took it. Memorization is not a big thing but understanding what is being asked is important. Example would be, "What should be the nurse be of most concern about on patients with renal failure?" For you to answer this and pick the best answer, you have to know what RF is then make your educated guess coz none of the books answers and teach you critical thinking. And to end my long post, if you can start testing yourself and then find where your weak at, focus on that weak area coz for sure, the computer will know where your weak at and its gonna keep asking you about that area you missed. As far as Im hearing from my friends and my experiance, infection control, pharmacology, transcultural nursing, and common diseases like HTN, Heart & lung disease, etc comes out. Pretty much everything but you dont have to memorize everything coz no one does. Nursing is pretty broad. Practice using cds. If you can borrow cds from friends who took the test, it can save you money. I studied 3 different cds just to be on the safe side that Im not stuck on one type of review. I didnt finish all the questions on each cds but if you can practice atleast 200 a day, that would be great. Best of all, trust yourself you can do it. Consider yourself as a winner coz you made it through nursing school. You just have to pass the boards and get licensed. Goodluck to you. :nuke:
  24. From what I've been reading on different posts, if you took NCLEX-RN, you could get your results in as little as 3 days, But if you took NCLEX-PN, especially here in CA that doesn't participate in quick results, it may take up to 3 to 4 weeks. Some are even up to 5 or 6 weeks. The only way that kept me sane was the trick everybody was talking about. Login to your pearsonvue account, hit the register button then try to reregister. If it doesn't let you pay, then thats a good sign. Most of the post I've heard said it worked for them. Im on my 17th day of waiting here in CA and checking this website for post that has the same questions as I do helps ease my anxiety. I dont know if the staffs here actually reads each post we do here on the website but I wanna thank them for making this site so accessible for all the nurses out there who needs someone to talk to that actually understands how nurses feel. Goodluck to you and sorry for my long posts.
  25. I've tried it and it cant find me. Maybe its for RNs only. I took my PN exam. Goodluck to us all. :nuke:
