  1. yeah, i was in that exact same predicament last week thursday. i did the trick on thursday and on saturday i looked at my quick results.. and i passed. so the trick worked the day of my test, then my quick results 48 hours later told me i passed.
  2. i took my nclex on thursday.. the way i studied for labs was to repeatedly re-write it down. kaplan gives a list of lab values that should be memorized. i used that. also, i've been told that if nclex asks a lab question.. it would probably be way off the normal values. so.. when you study these values, just know the general range. (i know we can't talk about questions given on the nclex.. but this info was told to me prior to me taking my exam and it helped me.. i feel that i should share it as well) i hope this helps. good luck!
  3. 8 hours and 39 minutes more till i find out. been trying not to think about it. good luck to everybody who is also waiting! it's nice to know that we can come to forum and talk about our worries. cspink- thanks for the words of encouragement lotstolearn- keep me posted! good luck to you too! only hours till we find out our status!!! i go from being positive to thinking about the test's details.. and how it was nothing that i studied.. then i snap out of it, repeat the pearson trick, and come back onto allnurses.com to read that "the pearson trick works" just to keep my sanity for a couple more hours. this is making me crazy.. it's making us all crazy! i feel like we all deserve RN licenses just for dealing with all this pressure, hours of studying and anxiety. just kidding.. but not really.
  4. SATA means "select all that apply". people say that if you get a lot of SATA's then you must be doing good
  5. so.. i took my nclex-RN today. just tried to re-sign up for nclex-rn and it stopped me saying that i already took it. doesn't that just mean that my score isn't in yet? or they haven't gotten the score? it doesn't really mean that i passed.. right? trying to be skeptical before i get my hopes up..
  6. hi!!! i'm taking my nclex in week almost. still doing kaplan q banks and question trainers. it's taking me forever to go through all the rationales. hope i'm on the right track. getting nervous..
  7. question... how did you do 250-300 questions a day? it takes me about 3 minutes to do each question (read the question, critically think it through, answer it, and then read the rationale, take notes on rationale) i am averaging 100 questions/day
  8. congratulations!! i'm in the process of studying.. can't wait to be in the same boat as you!
  9. do you think making your own med flashcards is a waste of time? i saw kaplan med cards and saunders.. i also hear that writing it out helps you!?! meds are scaring me..
  10. hi! taking my nclex in august too. i was hoping a forum would be started for us august people! doing kaplan in class. saunders cd questions. (since kaplan advises to not do any qbank questions till class is done, right?) i can only do about 100 saunders questions a day because i take notes on each one.. maybe i'm spending too much time taking notes?!?!? any suggestions on how to study pharm? and i just went to borders today.. they have another kaplan book. it's skinnier and i think it's called kaplan nclex 2010. i bought it. anybody used this one? and i also bought nclex made easy. anybody had experience with these books? helpful?
  11. Anybody applying to/accepted into/in the process of doing UCLA's New Grad Program? when do they start accepting applicants for their next program? (which i think starts in february) any pointers or tips when applying? the interview process? (phone? in person?) living arrangements? salary as a new grad in their residency program? thanks in advance
  12. thanks that really helped me!! labs and meds to be memorized.. Will the meds on NCLEX have the med classification stated as well? if it has the med with the classification then studying classifications will be sufficient.. your thoughts?
  13. thanks.. putting into perspective relieves some stress. i guess i'm just worried that i will miss something because of a minor detail.
  14. Hi all. studying for my nclex.. couple of questions.. 1. i'm trying to cover all bases.. what exactly do we need to memorize? i know in an earlier thread, it was suggested that memorization is not the way to pass the NCLEX.. but, i know that we need to memorize all lab values, solutions.. any other suggestion? 2. saunders or kaplan? 3. is the kaplan/saunders questions similar to the NCLEX questions.. the questions that we do in kaplan seem so specific. thanks
