  1. I'm an emt and do that for less. Quit griping. Crap.
  2. Anything is manageable if you work on time management skills. Its not an issue of 25 hours of work or the class load. This is very manageable for you.
  3. Think of it as an opportunity to further your schooling. That's not a bad thing
  4. I think a new car sounds appropriate
  5. 2012 is a ways off. Lots of great things could happen between now and then. Don't let this one issue decide your fate.
  6. If I am at the hospital for any family (esp mom and dad) members and the nurse is rude to them esp post op...better be finding some boxing gloves because its game on.
  7. Graduate school is easier in my MBA and M.ED programs as well. I am starting to believe if you can get admitted you will pass
  8. No means Yes
  9. First off MBAs from anywhere other than an Ivy League will not do you a bit of good. Myself and so many others will attest to that. MBA is a dime a dozen. If you want a healthcare management emphasis find a state university and use their hospital. Where I live KU Med is perfect training ground for healthcare management. Not so at phoenix university in my opinion. I would get your MSN and then take a bunch of accounting and finance courses leading towards a CPA. Seriously MBA is not that big of deal anymore. I wish I knew this before I got mine
  10. First off an EMT course is lots of time and energy. A 2 week course is not the best bang for your buck. You will learn a great deal in an EMT course but not in that short of time. Secondly, 1500 bucks is the cost of some Paramedic schools. An EMT course should run 600 to 800. Thirdly, go with the EMT
  11. A 1500 dollar EMT Basic course is robbery. But EMT is the way to go
  12. My opinion is get your EMT Basic certification (about 6 months) which costs roughly 700 bucks. A great way to decide if nursing is what you want
  13. I don't get all these NO comments. 40K annually is not to shabby. I've got an MBA and right now would work with less just get me a job. A 36 hour work week is fantastic. But whatever...
  14. I am 6'9", 305"!bs. I think I last weighed 100lbs was when I was 8. I am in great physical shape but trying to find scrubs or any clothes is a pain in the orifice. Either way don't let size bug you. :)
  15. If you want variety outside of RNs check out EMS. EMT and Paramedics have tons of fun and the pay is pretty solid too
  16. Get your EMT Basic
  17. Not nearly enough science related subjects in nursing school. If you want an MD skip the masters and pursue a pre med backgound to help your chances
  18. So I have a BS and MBA and am debating the same thing here in kansas city. ADN or BSN who knows?!
  19. If classes weren't in topeka I would apply there. I did my MBA at Baker in Overland Park and loved the school and atmosphere. Just sucks no one needs my business degrees so I am going into the very much in demand field of healthcare. Good luck!
  20. Go to a nursing home on a off day and ask them if you can do bp checks once a month on the elderly. That's how I learned. Old folks love that stuff plus its a new face to talk too
  21. Good chance I will just debating my options in my head before I make a firm decision on what's next.
  22. Question hoping for an answer. I have a BS and a MBA. Looking at nursing or respiratory therapy. Layoffs killed me in corporate america. Would my previous education with an Associates in Nursing (RN) be pretty strong for advancement if what I'm reading an ADN and BSN do not have to many classroom differences. Please advise. Thank you!
  23. I am considering this program in kansas city. It is 35K which is pricey. I have a BS and MBA and do not have time to "wait". Layoffs forced me to seek this profession out aggresively. I want my RN really bad and will go an accelerated BSN route possibly too. Its just pre-reqs that I have not completed yet. My business degrees are useless now and healthcare is where its at. If its a solid program and legit and transferable to other schools and careers sign me up. Ideas and help please...
