Finished my MSN this morning - ask me anything!
I completed my BSN through WGU and loved it. Debating on MSN. There are no job opportunities for MSN nor will I get a pay raise. A potential thought I had was to become a WGU mentor, if they were hiring. What was required (in general) for capstone?

Cons of WGU
I completed my BSN in Sept. 10 months for 40 credits. I absolutely loved WGU. Stats is not really that bad. It is mostly theory. I had a wonderful mentor. Great program/price

CPNE prep overwhelmed!!!
Thanks for all the input. I was wondering how I was going to organize the SG. I think I may also use page protectors and put at least the critical elements in a binder so I can take it to work with me. Does the swim noodle work pretty well for the lab simulations? That sounds a whole lot cheaper than buying a wound! I am reading the SG and all the way up to page 380! Do you guys recommend starting practicing the labs or care plans first? Thanks again for all your help!

CPNE prep overwhelmed!!!
Lunah and tnmarie thank you! I have joined the facebook group. I think I will set up my lab sim and "patient" tomorow after work and start practicing. I think I just saw all 588 pages and was overwhelmed. Taking it one page at a time is much more sensible way of doing it. But at 1am it got a little overwhelming! I will get a dry erase board and I read in another post to laminate my worksheets. THanks for the advice!

Sent in CPNE application !!
Great ideas OP, I applied for the Texas site. I currently live in Nebraska so Texas is the closest with Wisconsin sites being second closest. However I was not sure I wanted to drive into Wisconsin weather during winter. I applied 12/31 so hopefully we will get dates soon!

I have started looking over the CPNE guide (19th ed) I have just started looking over the Excelsior message board. I am feeling very overwhelmed with all the studying I need to do. Does anyone have any advice on where to begin? Thanks in advance for your help!

question for young nurses
I am 21 years old and work FT nights in a rural hospital. Been a nurse for 18 months. I have a wonderful 2 mo old daughter. I am also taking classes PT so I can one day be DONE with school :) I stay busy with family and friends. However, my social life is a quiet one...by choice. I really enjoy staying home most of the time. When I do go out most of my friends are nurses. So they understand my humor:jester: I would say that my life is family first then work.
