I'm an RN now =)
Just found out that I passed my NCLEX today on the first try!!! I didn't want to pay for Kaplan or any review classes. Instead, I borrowed the Sanders 4th ed. CD from my friend and did questions fromt here. I read basically every post on the "random fact throwing thread" and also studied the Priority book by LaCharity. All in all, I felt prepared. But when I got to my test I was suprised. It was hard. Don't go in thinking "I studied a lot, so I will know every question" like I did. I had no math questions, some on Hepatitis, a lot on infection control and one put in order questions. I didn't know the med questions...guessed on almost all of them. I felt like I didn't know anything. I got 75 questions and finished in just under an hour. So review, pray and stay calm....every single one of us will be an wonderful RN or LPN someday soon!!!!:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat

anyoen waiting for results...check your BON website for your state. My pearson account still says that my results aren't available, however my state board of nursing has me as a RN!! so i guess that means i passed??? and that means the pearson vue trick DOES work!!!

July 27th Test takers! (&passers hopefully!)
I don't personally know anyone who has tried the trick (other than me haha) But I read some about it on the board and everyone said that it worked...so let's hope it really does!!!! so a silly question...if results were to come up today, can they show up at anytime? or does it have to be like 24 hrs after you took your test? if that makes sense....??
-
July 27th Test takers! (&passers hopefully!)
I have heard that everyone feels like they failed. While taking the test yesterday, I felt like I hadn't even studied!!! But stay positive until you get results..or until you try the pearson trick! How long do you have to wait for your results samilynn? I was hoping mine would be up today...but no =(
-
July 27th Test takers! (&passers hopefully!)
I so so so much hope that the trick actually works!!! also, is it possible that we might have our results tomorrow?? I have heard that when you take it early in the week you tend to get results faster. that would be AMAZING to know tomorrow!!! 48 hours doesn't seem long....until you have to wait for results!!!!
-
July 27th Test takers! (&passers hopefully!)
I hope you both had a good experience with your boards. I was praying for you!! As for mine, they were difficult. I did the pearson vue trick from these message boards and it won't let me pay..so hopefully that's good !!!!

July 2009 NCLEX Support Group
Thanks jeanyis for thinking of me this morning!! I had 75 questions...7-10 SATA (I don't remember exactly..) one put in order, no math, I didn't have a question about the bluish tint (which I never knew a drug did that haha!) but I did have plenty of med questions that made me say whhhhhat??? I thought the test was difficult..but I tried the Pearson trick and got the same message and it didn't take me to the payment screen, so I'm REALLY REALLY hoping that the Pearson trick does in fact work!!
-
So I took NCLEX today..
soclose, I feel exactly the same way. I took my test today at 8am. I had 75 questions, which took me a little under an hour. I went in feeling well prepared and confident, but when I saw some of the questions I was like whhhhhat??? Where did this even come from?!?!? Pharm. is not my strong point, but some of the meds I didn't even know where to start. I tried the Pearson trick and it won't let me pay, so hopefully that is a good sign if it works as I have read. We will know soon enough thou..so I'm just gonna try to stay confident and pray!

July 27th Test takers! (&passers hopefully!)
It's almost time! Good luck everyone & I'll be praying for all of us!! We've all studied and prepared, so the rest is in God's hands! Try and relax, stat confident, and whatever is meant to be will happen. We will all be PN's or RN's when the time is right!! What are you guys doing today?? Are you doing any reviewing or just trying to relax? I'm sure getting to sleep tonight is gonna be rough..I'm so anxious! Sirkraker, I'm jealous..I wish I was in Tennessee...it is BY FAR one of my favorite places to visit. My brother lives in Memphis, so I try to go down there as much as possible! Good luck to both of you!!!!! Let me know how your exams went!!!!

July 27th Test takers! (&passers hopefully!)
I know how you feel!! Only two short days until NCLEX RN and I feel like I can't sit still!!!!! It sounds like you are much more prepared this time, and I'm sure you do well. Also, those are really good scores for the qbank!!! I didn't purchase it, but several of my friends did and those scores are a lot higher than theirs. What time are you taking your test? and does your state offer quick results?? I'm taking mine at 8am..bright and early..at least I will get it out of the way and have the whole day to feel anxious and restless...THANK GOD Ohio offers quick results, so hopefully I should know by Wed. at the latest. I'm glad that I am not the only one that is feeling so anxious..I thought I was going crazy haha:bugeyes:

July 27th Test takers! (&passers hopefully!)
A group for all of us taking the test on Monday! Nobody understands the stress unless they are also taking their NCLEX...so here's a place for us to vent, complain and encourage one another:wink2:

I didn't take the Kaplan course, but do know others who have, and I believe their scores were similar. I think that is the average range for the qbanks. I test on Monday the 27th, so I will let you know any tips (if I pass:icon_roll...haha) I havne't been studying a ton..just doing questions. I guess at this point I either know the information or I don't.

about linda charity book
it's called Prioritization, Delegation, and assignment. by LaCharity, Kumagai, and Bartz. I believe there is only one addition--my book doesn't indicate otherwise & I just bought it a few weeks ago. I take my NCLEX Monday, so I will let you know to what extent it helped. But so far, It has helped me review a lot of priority and delegation questions...which as you know, is a major part of the NCLEX =)

Kaplan CD similar to NCLEX??
For anyone who has recently taken the NCLEX and also used the CD accompanying the Kaplan 2010 review book...did you find your NCLEX questions very similar to those presented on the CD? A friend told me the CD was VERY VERY helpful when she took her exam last week, and I am wondering if extra attention should be applied to the CD rationales. Good luck to every still waiting to take NCLEX or for the results....I feel your anxiety!:uhoh3:

Taking NCLEX for the 2nd time Aug. 14 and need a study buddy!
I have heard the priority, delegation and assignment book is VERY helpful. I haven't taken my NCLEX yet...July 27th is the big day:( but a lot of my classmates used this book & passed. They said the questions were very similar to the questions they got on NCLEX..hope this helps=)
