Jobless LVN/LPN and Depression
Hello and first and fore most let me tell you that GOD loves you and many people around you do too. Please go and seek counsel from someone fast. You may need to be put on and anti depressant. There is nothing wrong with it, but you can't have a pitty party, it will cause you to spiral in to deeper depression. I think that you may need to focus on your well being for now. I have been laid off and know how you feel. Just don' t let it overcome you. This to shall pass. You will see your pot of God at the end of your rainbow. You are loved and you are beautiful keep yourself busy and get out the house and do you.

Pharmacology or A&P, which class do you think is/was more difficult?
Pharm was by far hands down the hardest. I really liked A&P 1, 2 it was good and my instructor made it fun .

Should I stay in nursing or change to teaching?
Hi, I am a Teacher going into Nursing. I would say follow your heart. Do the one that you love the most. I started out in the medical field over 20 yrs ago and I didn't complete my degree, I went into teaching instead. Believe you me I am now back doing it again, trying to finish what I started years ago. I didn't follow my heart. I loved teaching, but was never satisfied with my career. I was great at it, but deviated from my original plan. Teaching is rewarding, hard work, under paid almost like nursing, except you can advance into so many other areas in Nursing. You could even teach Nursing. Just think about it and don't make a haste decision. You have a lot vested in Nursing. Good luck with your decision

Being called "ignorant" by your boss- am I over-reacting?
Wow this sounds like a facility that is totally under staffed for starters. I think IMHO I would have to speak with her one on one tomorrow. I would be very polite about it, but to the point. I would point out to her that you guys are under staffed and what was going on. She sounds like a prude. Giving your two weeks isn't just because of her I would assume. Do you like the job or are you wanting to go somewhere else. If you can take the abuse and be over worked then don't leave, but if not I would definately speak with her and then give my two weeks notice, but you don't want her to fire you be careful. If you don't speak with her, that will allow her the opportunity to continue to do it to you as well as others, it might not even make a difference to her, but at least you put her on notice. Good luck and hold your head up and continue to be a great nurse

Study study study, stay in the instructors office if you don't understand. Go to her review sessions if you don't understand. The drug maps summarize each med category sort of speak. Learn GI, Respiratory, and Insulin very big. Stay up on studying and don't fall behind. Hard to catch up. You can do it, but you are going to work for it. Good Luck See you in January,

Am I in nursing school
Amen the only thing that really matter are the patients lives you will help make whole. The field of nursing is for people who take their oath and promise to take care of others as they would themselves, or better. If you spend time worrying about a title then God help you, that's the wrong focus. Do you think a patient that is coding cares if the RN get their first, I doubt it. I don't need a title to validate my accomplishments. I am leaving the Teaching profession to become a nurse, I was great at teaching and know I am going to be great at nursing. This is for me and my patients. A goal that I set had a very long time ago. I hope I don't sound harsh, but don't make our hard work seem second to none. Good Luck and God Bless all

Class of 2013 LPN Students from Michigan?
Hey OU's program so far seems great. No you don't have to do it again in the program. You have to take all your pre- reqs. Math and Pharm, Nutr., Growth and Developmnt., A&P. You can take all of them thir or everything except Pharm. you have to take at OU. Pharm is no joke. The director of the program teaches it. she is awesome, but you work in that class. When you finish you know your stuff. Where are you going.

Can't locate immunization record and classes start on August 13th
Don't panic honey just go to your local Health Department. They have records from birth to current. All Doctors put your immunization in a state data bank and you can get that from the Health DEpartment. Good luck
