  1. most international students who "waste your time with ridiculous questions" probably also speak 2-4 other languages in which they excel but instead they chose to come to the usa and pay ridiculous fees and learn a new language in a few years so they can experience the great education system that the us offers. for the hour you study, they study one extra hour looking up words we've had the luxury of hearing and knowing throughout our life....So take some time and look at their efforts as they get into the same programs you are knowing 1/2 the language... Don't judge a person by their inability to speak english.. you'll be very surprise to see what kind of person you meet.
  2. I relate to your feelings although I am only 26 turning 27 this year and I feel like I've wasted the heart of my 20s in pursing a career and not getting anywhere (fashion! holy mole!).. I know, I'm only 26 but I still have a lot of prerequisites I need to take and a lot of goals to achieve before I even know if nursing is for me... I'm hoping for stability and a challenge... I'm a nice person who has too much sympathy for life and people.. I didn't have a sudden epiphany that I want to be a nurse, I just see some very smart women pursing this field and I admire that and want to experience the challenge they're experiencing.... I hope it works out...
  3. I'm 26 and got laid off... I was miserable for the past yr at my work sitting at my desk asking me if this is my life and if I went to college to surf the internet and deal with b***y fashionistas who think they're better than you... I rather deal with life as it happens and not read about it on the internet... I have a long way to go.. hopefully the job market picks up when I graduate a program.
  4. Hi All, So I am one of the many casualties of our recession and am looking into this unemployment period to open up a new career avenues. I graduated with a BA in Film from UCSB in Dec 2005 and went on to work in apparel/fashion in various positions ultimately to walk away with a layoff and menial job experience due to the unstable nature of my industry. I am 27 this year and ready to work on a future with upward growth. Health care is basically ideal because of it's longevity, potential growth and stability. I'm taking my first science class in 7 yrs this summer at a community college and I am just curious to know what route/options are available to someone like me who has a degree with little healthcare work/life experience. Should I begin volunteering as I take the prereqs? I am looking at the master's program (entry-level) in CA in part to satisfy my desire to achieve an advance degree, but also I want to be realistic and start enjoying life as it comes and not be in a program if I won't utilize it. I'm also hoping to utilize the most out of my time so not another day is wasted... ANY SUGGESTIONS, HELP, CRITIQUES, PROGRAMS (MSN, BSN) is HIGH APPRECIATED AND WILL BE GIVEN A VIRTUAL HUG!! Thanks!
