  1. Thanks for your response! I m glad to hear that the Cna program is good at Lawson. You are so right about Gasden state, I was like all this for the program. The only reason why I was considering them, is because they say you train for 2 skills in their program. Also what is the work keys assessment at lawson? Also what times did you go to class? How were your clinicals scheduled?
  2. Anyone know how much Lawson's cna program cost? Wha about for Gasden state as well? How did you like the programs?
  3. I'm not sure call one of the secretaries.........they could tell you!
  4. no you can do rn to msn, they have those programs at uab and jsu, you don't have to have a bsn for those. they are bridge programs rn to msn, get your bachelors and masters in one easy step
  5. Why not do RN-MSN"? I guess you're not interested in the msn though
  6. Hey try UAB'S accelerated program
  7. AUM is pretty easy, that's all I know of right now
  8. Troy is vey easy to get into, you are not wasting your time taking those classess. As long as you at least have a 2.5, you are fine. Oh yeah, why are you not doing an accelerated program since you already have a bachelors?
  9. Troy is extremely easy to get into, but once you're in it's hard work. It's not easy making it through though, but what nursing program is?
  10. I haven't failed out of nursing school but I did have to drop a class, but all I can say is stop feeling sorry for yourself. This won't get you anywhere. You need to dust yourself off and try again. You aren't the first this has happened to, and you surely WON'T be the last!
  11. yeah no one knows anything about what's going on. good luck to us all!
  12. I am not trying to throw salt on the your fire, but you may really want to consider applying to other nursing programs. I have a friend that went over her teachers head to appeal her grade, which was the right thing to do, but once she got back in those teachers made her nursing education a living nightmare. She eventually transferred out of the school the next semester, and went on to graduate from there. I am just telling you this to be prepared for any attitudes or any other pettiness that may take place when you get accepted back in!
  13. I have no clue, hopefully it won't be as long as the RN response
  14. Did anyone aplly to Lawson's spring LPN program?
  15. I currently go their now for the BSN program. I am only in second semester, but the only thing I can tell you is to stay on yop of your reading and make sure you take full advantage of the pratice time in labs for your check-offs, oh yeah the good news is that once second semester is over, you have no more check-offs!
  16. Well, I am only 22 and I really don't have to work now because my parents help with everything, but I want to start working though. I have been in school long enough, and I am ready to enter the workforce. I wish I would have gone LPN, straight from hs and then I would be bridging now. I have let my parents run my life too much, and so now I am regretting a lot of decisions that I have ultimately made. I already have an Associate in Science, but I am not sure what I can do with that. I am just ready to work, I guess that's the biggest issue here. I would like to stay at my school, but that would mean more loans to take out, and more time spent in school.
  17. Hey all I am in a BSN program in AL. I know everyone else on here is saying how hard it is to get into a BSN program around the country, but here in AL, it's really not that hard. Anyways, I am in a BSN program as I stated, but I have just recently had to withdraw from one of my classes, which in turn has pushed my graduation date back. I had to withdraw from my Math Calculations class in Fall of 08 because I had to come back home to help my family. My graduation date was set to Fall 2010 originally, then when I withdrew from my calculations class, my graduation date was set to Spring 2011, now it's set at Fall 2011. I have turned a 2 year program to a 3 year program. I was thinking of just going the Lpn route and then bridging over to RN. I will start working faster, and gain experience a lot faster than if I stayed in this BSN program. Do you all think this is a logical plan? Has anyone been in this situation before?
  18. I will give her you all's suggestions. I think that was really sick of the instructor to give her a zero for the whole day, and it's out of a big number of points too, not just one hundred. I know you should pass meds on time, but she was just slow on checking her 5 rights, and things. The instructor said she should be going a lot faster when pulling the meds from the medication room. I personally didn't see the need for a zero to be given for something like that, but her instructor said in the real world of nursing you are going to have to be able to pull your meds quickly and check them quickly!
  19. The instructor said she was going to slow, but my friend said she had like 12 meds to pass to the one patient. She said when she went into the med room my friend should have been checking the meds at a much quicker pace.
  20. Has anyone heard of failing clinical because you were too slow to pass meds? My friend said her instructor sent her home for the day, because she took too long to pass meds, but that was her first day! She got a zero for that whole day, and that really is going to mess her grade up, I told her to go talk to the teacher to see what she may could do to pass the clinical.
  21. Not to be a negative person, but if you have the time and money to change your major I say do it. Don't sit in a major for an alloted period of time and then decide when you'e deep in the program that the particular major is not for you, and then have to go and start all from scratch to another major. You end up wasting time and money. I am saying this from personal experience. I didn't do this with nursing, but with another major. I am not trying to tell you what to do, but I am just trying to offer some insight from personal experience.
  22. If you check the alabama board of nursing website lawson still has their accredation. People love to spread lies, and negative things about certain school. Now they may have lost accrediadation on other programs, i'm not sure on that, but they still are accrediated for nursing
  23. oh ok thanks you two
