  1. To anyone who has started Synthroid for hypothyroidism: How long did it take to feel better, with a clear head, energy, and to start losing the weight?
  2. I've been reading this thread after recently being diagnosed hypothyroid and put on thyroid medication. I have a TSH of 15. I've experienced the brain fog for quite some time now. I feel this has affected my care of patients. Should I let my supervisor know of my condition and take some time off (I have some sick time accumulated) or should I keep mum to my condition. I realize it is not considered a disability.
  3. With these over 40 eyes, I say any watch that you can see is good! :>)
  4. 1st pregancy @ 30 1st baby girl @ 34 Divorced @ 36 Remarried @ 38 2nd baby girl @ 40 I never have felt too old to have my children, but do wish I could have had the second a little closer to the 1st. The ideal time, I think, would be between 25 and 35.
  5. Martha, Thanks again for the very helpful information. Joa
  6. Martha, Thankyou. I found some very helpful information at that website. Joa
  7. Does anyone know what education the Ohio school districts require for entering school nurses? Thanks. Joa
  8. Hi Kim, I am a nursing student now in an ADN program. I too, have a BS degree and was a teacher prior to nursing school. While I do not have an answer to your question, I would like to know what further schooling, if any, I will need to become a school nurse. Will I be able to work as a school nurse or assistant school nurse with the education I will have at the end of my ADN program? Or, will I have to pursue further education? Is anyone able to answer these questions? Thanks. Joa
  9. No problem with pee. Might be time to say goodbye to my uterus though. Hysterectomy here I come!
  10. Really? 4 hours? What if you're a premenopausal mama that has to go every hour on a particular day of the month?
  11. I too, am about to start nursing school (ADN). I have a previous degree (BSed), so have most of the nonnursing coursework done. I am finishing the A & P this summer, and will have only Nutrition and Microbiology during my official nursing school time. I start in the fall with only 2 nursing classes. My question is this. With all the other coursework out of the way except for the above mentioned Nutrition and Microbiology, will I still be strapped to find time for my family? My youngest is in school this fall. And then, I wonder about those sick kid days? Also, how does a previous bachelors degree help in the transition to a BSN. I would like to enter school nursing among other things. Will my education degree help in that aspect? Thanks. Joa
