Anyways, I'll just stick to the site you've shared since you were using it and I could print the certificates right away. Thank you so much I really appreciate it. My License in CA is expiring this year. What courses should I take to that is credited by BON? I need suggestions on what site to take for online courses? Thank you.- New Grad RN - Need Advice :)
nobody wants to be taken advantage. but in times like this all you need is a job to keep you going. Actually the RN rate in other states are LVN rates here in bay area. so there's no significant difference with the rate. when you transfer to another state you have to consider your finances such as your rental, your bills and other miscellaneous. but if you stay with your family you could save alot. you need to weigh things over.- New Grad RN - Need Advice :)
you are right nikilaughs. my batchmates who got here in US in 2006 were considered as new gradz and they didnt even had a problem applying for the hospital positions. Im unfortunate to get here 2 yrs later and got stuck with this recession. bay area is not a place for me. but what can i do. my family is here. so for now im happy to have a job than nothing at all. This recession shall pass and im looking forward to that day.- New Grad RN - Need Advice :)
I passed NCLEX - RN exam in 2008. i have 5 yrs Philippine ICU experience but the problem is they dont credit my foreign experience here most especially here in sfo east bay area where conpetition with other nurses are so tough. so im good as without experience. All the hospitals ive contacted requires at least 1 year acute US experience. with regards to the new grad program im sure i wont qualify neither.- New Grad RN - Need Advice :)
you are entitled to your own opinion and i respect you for that. but let me show you the real picture. Im an RN but my workload is lighter than an LVN. so for me its quite fair. Id rather work as an LVN than staying at home waiting for hospitals to hire me which is far from reality for now. I cant stand being unproductive. Most of the hospitals here in bay area are on freeze hiring. they offer new grad program only to those local graduates. they dont entertain foreign nurses even if you have more than 5 yrs ICU experience. its sad to know but its true. Foreign nurses are left with no choice. we are just lucky enough to have job. so there's no reason to complain.- California's 2010 New Grad RN Program
is the new grad program really for the 2010 graduates?- New Grad RN - Need Advice :)
hi fellow kababayans. How is it going? I'm from the Philippines too and have a hard time looking for positions in the hospital. They won't credit our experience way back there no matter how long and where u had ur experience. I am currently working as a home health nurse with LVN rate even I'm an RN. If you guys are interested to work as an LVN for the mean time while waiting for greater opportunity you can post your resumes on Monster.com and the agencies will contact you. Eventhough we are underpaid but its far better than doing nothing.- volunteering opportunities
thanks maybeezy. ill be submitting an application tomorrow at kaiser hospital. hope they will consider me. :)- volunteering opportunities

hi! got your PM but i dont know how to send you a reply there. anyway, I dont have any idea in San Diego but i tell you the pay they give me here in bay area (northern CA) is less than 25/hr. the cost of living here is high compared in your place. so if you have plans of moving here somewhere in CA you must now how much you'll get paid so that you can plan ahead It differs in every city. Are you new grad or you have 1 year experience. It's really hard to find job here in sfo/east bay area. I think there are greater opportunities in LA and Sacramento. but if you know someone who's working in the hospital maybe that could help but im not sure though.- new grad training programs in northern california
how sad. I dont really know where would i be qualified. I cant join the new grad program coz u have to be 2008/2009 graduate. i cant even apply for RN II positions coz they require 1 yr US experience which I have none. i wonder what position should i be applying for.- new grad training programs in northern california
It was mentioned on their site that they are only accepting 2008 and 2009 graduates. Do they consider 2007 and earlier?- NEW GRAD OR WHAT DILEmMA
Im here in Bay are and I couldn't find a job as an RN. Ive been a RN in other countries for quite awhile and I have a year of ICU experience. I just passed the NCLEX RN exam last Oct 2008 and until now I can't find a position in the hospital. I've applied in different hospitals but they would tell me I should have at least 1 year US experience. trying to apply for new grad but they only cater 2008 and 2009 graduates. now im so confused. I dont really know what position should i be applying for. can somebody help me or share your insights on what should i do? I dont know what to do now.- California's 2009 New Grad RN Program- Who's hiring right now?
Is there any new grad program here in bay area? I graduated few yrs ago so I wont be qualified for Stanford's new grad prog. Actually i just got my CA RN lic last october but iv been a nurse in other country with a year of ICU experience but i dont have any US experience. should I consider myself as a new grad or what? every hospital requires at least 1 yr US experience and new grad programs are saying you should be 2008-2009 graduate. where should I belong? im so consfused and hopeless... - Warning about MedCEU.com CE Provider
