  1. Can you all type out what the letter said? Also what are teas? is that the nurse entrance exam?
  2. I may look into the Radiology program at Memorial since it would probably be easier to get into that?......... but with how things are who knows.....
  3. Awesome 4 you! Congrats! Where I'm at you have to take those 1 at a time... A&P1 is a prereq for A&P2... but seriously I am fearful enough at just taking 1 lol... G-d help me when I sign up so I down drown! :)
  4. I had this posted in the LPN section but thought perhaps this would be a better place to gather info... I'm currently attending PPCC... I have 3 classes left til I can apply... AP1 and 2 and micro... I'm in BIO now its pretty tough but I have a B so far in it... (hope to stay that way) Anyways with how things are now and waiting lists I was looking into other options.... which lead to my post below.... LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ------------------ Okay I'm currently attending a local college for their ASN program..... I have 3 classes left til I can apply to get in a&P I and II Microbiology..... Reg classes cost 81.00 ph and nur 118 per credit hour...along with the reg fees, books etc... It has a waiting list from anywhere from 1-2 yrs..... but during the wait you can knock off some of the other required nonnursing courses like patho etc...... anyways I found a LPN program about a hour away 56 miles one way...... NO waiting and I'd be able to get right in I'm sure. but it costs 18,600 (everything included books, tests etc) Should I just stay on the course I am...... suck it up and wait orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr should I take a chance and commute and get into the LPN program? PS) I did find other programs less expensive but they are 1 1/2 hours away. One was a total of 8,000..... thats about 10,000 less!!!! But I can't do that kind of commute..... the hour is gonna be longggggggggg enough!...
  5. oh okay... Yes Pikes Peak Community College has a Military wait list where we are suppose to get a shorter wait / priority on since we are possibly here for limited time.... course with the new procedures I don't know how that effects it... I'm a little disappointed in the change but it is what it is... I'll just probably never get in......... Teaching is starting to look better and better
  6. I called them and here is their low down........ They are a new program accred. and approved by the board of nursing... You must be a CNA and HS grad to apply. You have to take thier entrance exam cost as of the time I called is 50.00 Thier program is 12mths long and costs include tuition, books, tests, graduation, Insur. ETC...or as she put it "everything".... for the bargain price of 18,600 or 1,550 a mth. The program runs M-F they do have day and night classes. I about fell out of my chair at the cost but it is what it is. Had they told me 10,000 or maybe even 12,000 I would of been so there but not at that price. at least right now... especially since I'd have to commute from the springs... Its definitly not cheap but the postitive is they don't have waiting...... course neither does the Colorado Tech School in Pueblo.... but they too are expensive. Just have to weigh costs vs time over lower cost colleges with longer waits.....
  7. IF I am finding BIO 111 hard .... am I gonna flunk AP or Micro? I currently have a high B but its the only class I'm taking and its a tough one for me.... course I am still adjusting to going back to school but still. I only have the 3 prereq's left to do.... DO you think taking the BASIC a&p (Bio 106) class would help or waste of time? I saw they offer one but its not required........ Thanks for the help :)
  8. What did they say at the meeting? Did you go to the PPCC one? What about their military priority? How does it effect those of us spouse who are suppose to get a bump on the wait list cause we are military spouses?
  9. Is there a lower class or side class you could take that would help you? Like for me I'm scared to death to take A&PI. I saw the college I'm attending offers a basic A&P class.... I am considering taking that as a stepping stone to assist me with the reg A&P class.... My Bio class I am taking had a lot of chemistry (which I have never had) Its a tough class but it did help me understand Chem better. Chem isn't required for the RN program here but I was considering adding it on just so I have it case I EVER want to do the BSN thing.... Anyways school tutoring is great advice I know they have tutoring labs at my school you may want to look into that or hiring a tutor. Most likely even if you go LPN the prereqs will still be the prereqs to get into the RN program........ like for my school even if your a LPN you still have to do the prereqs to get into the bridge program.... ugh! KEEP trying and HANG IN THERE!

  11. I have 3 classes left til I can apply for the RN program........ A&P1 A&PII and Microbiology I was curious should I take A&PI this summer or would microbiology be better first? I am going to take all of them probably seperate just cause...... so I'm looking at another year...... sigh. I asked my Bio111 teacher and he said he did not recommend taking any of these together. ANy other PPCC input would be great! Thanks :)
  12. Colorado Tech in Pueblo has NOooooo waiting! They are a bit expensive and a bit of drive for me so I'm still chugging away at PPCC.
