  1. Sure, 6 wks later you're finding out. But I say it's better to find out NOW rather than once it's all said and done and there's no points to be given.
  2. I look forward to being bored, but I did already purchase my books I need for the fall and am on a reading schedule. Peds and OB is in the fall so I'm slowly introducing myself to it. Those 2 books, however, will NOT go with me on my week long beach retreat in August. Ocean City here I come!!!
  3. Congratulations to BOTH of you. I wouldn't have gotten this far w/o the help and support of my husband, he definitely cheers the loudest for me!
  4. Definitely a 'seen the light' type of response. I've heard the very same scenario from the gals I go to NS with.
  5. 16 of us chipped in and got her a gift card to a fancy pants restaurant she had been wanting to go to. She was in tears when she opened the card.
  6. I definitely agree with getting your therapist involved in the letter writing, or at least have him/her write a medical exemption letter stating what you are being treated for, etc. It's always a good idea to have an expert vouching for you. Good luck and let us know what happens!
  7. I had my med-surg final yesterday. I went away for the weekend fully intending on studying while traveling, I had all my materials with me. We broke down, long story short, I got maybe 2 hours of study time in. Thankfully I had boned up on everything along the way. I scored an 88% on my final. And had I not gotten those 2 hours of study time, it wouldn't have made a difference anyway.
  8. I don't know if it's the oxymoronish way I think of things - but can someone please explain, in laymen terms, the ceiling effect of drugs and what it means. Thank you so much.
  9. Out of the 16 in my nursing class right now 12 of them got into it for the money. They openly admit it.
  10. I have a neurology exam on Monday, an ATI on Wednesday and a GU/STD on Friday of next week and the final on Monday.(our first lecture on GU/STD is immediately following the neuro exam) Oh I forgot our dosage calc test on Wednesday right before the ATI. 5 class days and 5 tests of some type.
  11. What Daytonite said. And I'm not into wishing anyone ill will, so I would just ask that you refrain from joining the medical field in ANY capacity.
  12. Here's what I have: Taber's Dictionary, Davis Drug book and a lab book by Pagano. The Nursing Careplan book we were to buy was the one by Gulanick but I don't like it. I prefer Nursing Diagnosis Handbook by Ackley and Ladwig. Good luck!
  13. Thanks a lot! I rely on note cards as it is! GOOD LUCK!!!!
  14. Started hematology in med-surg today and my goodness I'm going to have a hard time keeping them straight and remembering all the care, etc. I'm finding a lot have the same care, interventions, etc but some don't. Plus all the CBC values, and the exam is Monday! Thankgoodness i have a long week off after a half a day tomorrow. Any pointers? Thanks in advance.
