Winthrop Hospital Long Island New Grad Pay 09
hey joeygirlRNnyc i had an interview there at it was with the nurse recruiter than with a nurse manager. they were really nice. they basically asked the same questions everyone has mentioned. 1. Why nursing? 2. Why this hospital? 3. Where do you see yourself in 5yrs? ( i think this is a tough question to answer because one im a new grad so i dont really know where i want to be and plus you don't want to sound like you have higher aspirations than what this unit can give you and basically sound like you're gonna leave after a certain amount of experience.) anyways im blabbing again. with the nurse manager: telemetry 1. same as above 3 questions. 2. what do you do chf pt 3. what to do for pt with chest pain or mi? 4. how do you handle stress? 5. how do you deal with a pca who has an attitude or refuse to take the bp for your pt. how would you handle it. 6. how do you deal with conflict among co-workers.

Can anyone tell me how the interview process goes for the new grad residency programs at HSS? like what kind of questions did they ask you? were they scenario based? was it more than one person giving you an interview? did you have two interviews and did you have to shadow a nurse? thank you any advice or info would be greatly appreciated so i can best prepare for the interview. i get really nervous and blank out so i want to be prepared and have this run smoothly. Thanx!!!

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
First off i just want to say CONGRATULATIONS to everyone that passed. for those who are still waiting for their results, i know its difficult and you want to strangle everyone around you because the wait and anxiety is just too much to bare for one person. I was there and boy was the wait worth it. for those who didn't pass keep the faith and work hard and it will pay off in the end. I want to share i was once there with you guys. I failed my first Nclex in feburary 2009 and i took my second nclex this week and found out this morning i passed. don't lose hope!! i tried the pearson vue trick about 2-3 hours after i finished my exam and it didn't let me re-register and the pop up box appeared. that relieved some anxiety but i was afraid maybe its too early to be accurate so i tried to register again the next day (>24hrs) and again it didn't allow me to register and the pop up box apppeared. and finally i tried the pearson vue trick again this morning before my results were availble just to make sure and again it didn't allow me to register. I really do feel that trick works and it sure did relieve lots of anxiety and made the 2nd day go by a lot easier. its good to prepare yourself ahead of time. But of course don't solely rely on that until you get your offical results. good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i failed my nclex
i have to call board of nursing first and make sure they have my graduation records which they should since i just graduated in jan '09. I plan on callin them tomorrow, Monday morning. then i think i have to register for the nclex all over again through pearson vue and pay that gosh darn $200 fee again. (sux since i am unemployed!!) then after i register i wait for my new ATT # to come and then i can make the appointment for the exam. I'm gonna do everything as soon as possible or as soon as they allow me to do so. so if the board of nusing gives me the OK to proceed i will register for the nclex tomorrow!!!! i'm from NEW YORK.

How do you know when you are READY
i don't one can ever be ready for such an exam as the nclex. you will never feel that you studied enough. you just have to have faith and hope you did all that you could and praypray pray and have a good meal at least 3 days before the exam and good night rest.

265 questions on nclex bad or good?
how many questions you did for the nclex is really no indication of whether you pass or not. i know people who have passed with 265 qs and people who have failed at 80 questions. honestly you have a good instinct of how you performed whether yoou knew the answers or 50/50 or just plain guessed. hang in there. ncex was by far the hardest exam i ever took. i hate it.. it was pure torture.

what's the next step after i fail my nclex?
i too failed i just took the exam last week. i approached it all wrong.. i rushed in and thought i learned everything i needed to learn and studied for 2 weeks only. i thought i would be ok considering i just graduated and my school is pretty tough in preparing us for nclex and we were required to take and pass 3 exit hesi's and hand in review questions with a passing grade each week. everyone said once u graduated you made it thats the hard part. well, i have a new respect for nclex that was by far the hardest exam i have ever taken and i never ever experienced an exam like that before. all of my questions were basically prioritizing and infection control like which patient would i put in a private room or have a roomate. the second time around i plan on reviewing the whole saunders book and all systems. im just depserate at this point.. but i'm not gonna give up.

i failed my nclex
you can apply now and make an appointment i believe but you won't be able to actually sit for the exam until 45days has passed. So as long as you schedule the text at least 45 days from your previous exam date. best of luck!

i failed my nclex
i too just received my results and i also failed. i was in complete shock and utter disappointment. my exam shut off at 81 questions. i called the pearson vue testing center and they said i had to call Board of Nursing and ask if they had my records and proof of graduation in order for them to send me a new ATT number (authorizatin to test) and register for the nclex rn again. so its basically the same procedure you did for the first time you applied. hope it works out. im rooting for ya as i am in the same boat.
