New York Presbyterian PHARM EXAM!
For all of you that think there is no practice NLN test online, there is! You need to go to the home page, testing services, then press on Pass web and print the pages out. Fill out the part where it says Basic medication administration for the RN and fax it to them. You get the test within an hour during regular hours of service of course. There has been so much miscommunication and I just wanted to clarify that! Wish you all the best, I have yet to take the test but I will soon!

New York Presbyterian PHARM EXAM!
Hey Amadan I'm taking the test this coming Thursday and I too am anxious. I bought the review and rationale book. I am only doing the CD questions because I know that if I study all that material it'll be way too much and confuse me! I feel like I get questions wrong though and the questions can sometimes be twisted as well. That practice test that they gave us, some of the questions confused me. Is the test just like the practice test? Are there any categories that take most of the test that I should focus on? You did great on it! Congratulations. I left my job already and this test is basically everything to me so that's why I'm so nervous about it. Were the questions straight to the point or were they tricky? Thanks so much :)

Taking NCLEX Feb 5th....IM FREAKING OUT!!
First of all stop freaking out.. every time I thought about the test I'd think okay calm down you're going to do good this time... you practiced questions and still keep on doing that. You have to make sure that you think everything through. What I did today when I took the test was actually visually the situation happening.. of course that made me take more time on a question but I surely am glad I did what I had to do and therefore it worked out well as for now... anyways good you did the lacharity book because nclex is all about prioritization and delegation..make sure you make mnemonics about infection control cuz honestly that's what saved me today when I took it!!!... learn suffixes on medications like CEF- is the beginning to alot of Cephalosporins and learn main facts about that type of medication and you'll do good for the most part... keep your mind focused because you can do this... and most of all have faith in yourself!

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
Took my NCLEX today came home and got the "good" pop up It took me 3 hours n 15 minutes and it stopped at 75 questions!! I had to make sure every question was well thought out.. and i actually prayed after each question took a deep break and talked myself through it. I believe in the PVT trick and know inside that I passed =) 48 hours is long though =(......and the wait beginssss
-
4th try
Wow I can't believe you have to wait that long well I just took the test today and I'll be getting the "official results" in 48 hours through quick results... That's pure torture to wait days for it :S... Well you get the "good" pop up so that's still a positive aspect to all of this.. =) after seeing that darned cc page the last three times I'd have to say the "good" pop is DEFINATELY a plus!!! I wish you the best of luck but i have a feeling that you passed =D ... KEEP STRONG

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
It's not about the time it's about whether on the screen on pearson vue if it says "DELIVERY SUCCESSFUL" which means that your test has successfully gone through to pearsonvue. When it does say delivery successful then you may do the trick and it'll tell you the proper results. If you do it when it doesnt say delivery successful you'll get a popup but not the "good" popup it'll say that it's on hold for now(because it hasn't gone through yet)... so just wait till it says delivery successful =)
-
4th try
The last three times that I've taken the test I've gone straight through to the cc page on that very day which was a couple hours after the test or basically when it said delivery successful ..but this time i wasn't let through to the cc page the good"pop up" came and no it didn't let me reregister said the message it's supposed to say to contact the member board of nursing and whatnot. I'll know the official results in 48 hours but i just know inside that i passed. Wow it's been a week and no result? that's a little too long... where are you from?

feuer nursing review
Okay so I really recommend feuer review it is what got me through my struggle... I didn't pass three times same as you!!! and feuer got me through it... I have tried Hurst, Kaplan(twice) and now feuer.. FEUER was great because I was content deficient. I first did questions from saunders on the CD and when I got a question wrong I would go back read the rationale on why I got it wrong and then I'd go to where it explained the subject in the book and made an index card in it.. writing on an index card really helped me!... and then I enrolled into Feuer Nursing Program where I went for the live review and It helped tremendously especially their pediatrics instructor who was phenominal and she taught pharmacology which was even more amazing... If I hadn't gone for that pharmacology review I don't know what I would have done because it helped tremendously with all those medications on that test!!!.... This was my fourth try and If I could do it I definately have faith in the fact that you can do it on your fourth try... FAITH is number one!!!! I was never religious but today I had more faith than I have ever had in my life... I came back from taking it today and I did the PVT trick and got the pop up!!! after using that trick the last three times i failed I know it's legit.. anyways Study infection control inside and out, that's something feuer doesnt spend too much time on, get that priority and delegation book by lacharity and look into saunders as well..feuer's medical surgical questions were confusing so stick to another source for those questions =)..YOU CAN DO IT!

I just came back from my test after 3 hours and 15 minutes of taking that test the computer shut off at 75 questions!!! It's been such a struggle and I came home and I got that good pop up from PVT!!! I was praying after each question to get it right. Faith really guided me in the right way I honestly am not that religious but today I had more faith than I have ever had in my life and it surely helped. That test was nauseating but it paid off actually i'll know for sure in 48 hours!! I want to say thank you to everyone on this site who helped me gain that faith that I never knew would help this much.. This site is truly amazing and I wish I'd have joined earlier .... ps that mnemonic for the infection control is amazing!!! truly worked =D ... 48 hours AHHhhh what am i gonna do with myself???

4th try
I just came back from the test that I took at 8 am this morning... I literally prayed for each question and i cried as well :S... I took 3 hours and 15 minutes for 75 questions and came home and got the good "pop up " from PVT... after three times of using that trick before I know it's legit!!! That test was hardddddd but that's a good thing when you think about.. my mind is so trained to know when i did bad on a question because it's not a priority or infection control or medication question I would sit there and close my eyes take a break and then get back to it... i'm in disbelief right now but I definately worked hard for this and I have to wait 48 hours for the official results!!... This site is amazing and thank you guys for your support without you guys I wouldn't have had this much faith in myself of passing FINALLY!...

4th try
Okay so I had rescheduled my exam for monday and I have been doing questions and on my practice exam yesterday of 180 questions i got a 70%. I have been doing Kaplan Qbank and studying pharmacology based on suffixes and prefixes adn honestly that helps so much. I made index cards for the categories of meds like Cephalosporins and knew what the Prototype of that category of meds and studied side effects and it helps alot. I do questions from feuer but it doesn't help too much as I thought it would. This test is on monday and rescheduling it for a couple days made me feel a whole lot better than I'd think. I know I can do it this time around without any distractions.

I switched my date to february 1st at 8am. The switch of dates helped because I was reviewing pharm and I feel more confident with those extra couple days. I know in my heart that I can do this and finally pass this darn test!

information needed for Helen Feuer rview
I just took the class this week and it's amazing. The instructors that lecture to you are very thorough and they know what is usually asked on nclex so you have a good idea. Although I won't agree with the med/surg question homework booklet they send you home with the other topics like psych, maternity and peds are amazing with homework booklets. I feel pumped up and anxious about this test. Tomorrow morning I'm taking the pharmacology with feuer and I hope it's great. I'm going to have the same instructor that taught us Pediatrics who was phenominal! So yes I do recommend this course to many because I was content deficient and they taught me alot!

NCLEX Takers Support Thread
I'm taking my nclex on wednesday of this week! I'm super nervous!!! I did the helen feuer program and it helped with content and i've been practicing questions. Tomorrow is the pharmacology review for the feuer and I hope it helps me! I'm praying that everything will go fine. I had originally scheduled mines for the 27th at 8am but I hate it being that early and then out of nowhere I just randomly checked the vue site and there was a time for 10:45 am which makes a bigg difference for me =) I am going to be an RN I can feel it!

4th try
About 8 days and I take the nclex again.. I'm kind of nervous and I'm going to be doing the 4th day of Helen Feuer Nursing review which I might say isn't bad except their homework packets for med/surg which I don't agree with but anyways, I had maternity yesterday morning and the instructor was great in explaining everything and what was expected for nclex. They are very educated on what's expected on nclex and this is the first review that has that advantage. Today I have Pediatrics which I really don't like so this will be a long day of reviewing. I just finished 100 questions on maternity and I'm nervous because I got a 66% but then again i'm exhausted. Should I be scared or just keep on going at this pace. I know I'm going to eat breath and sleep questions and review for the next week. I'm not chickening out! I can do this!

feuer nursing review
Hey there I know how you feel as to failing for three times! It truly is devastating and takes a toll on your life. This time around we have to pass and there's no stopping us. I'm taking the live lecture for Helen Feur in NYC and the added pharmacology class. I wish I could help you but they don't allow tape recording inside the place. I know what you mean the audio lectures seem really interesting and knowledgeable. You've tried suzanne's plan and it didn't work? What are your other study techniques?

Taking NCLEX on Jan, 27th for the 3rd time. Any Advice
Hey I'm also taking the test on the 27th. God help us!!! Sometimes I feel good about taking it and sometimes I feel confused as to whether I'm ready. I'm starting a review class this weekend and I'll try to get their honest opinion on whether I should take it on the 27th. This is my 4th time taking this test and I surely don't want to mess up and rush this process yet again. The other times I took it I was in upper division schooling where you don't need your RN just yet. But right now I need it because if I don't pass this time around I won't be able to start next semester and that sucks in so many ways. But anyways I've been doing Saunders and I get mixed scores. I do kaplan and it surely is hard but I read the rationale. I know that I have to finish my priority and delegation book by this weekend by lacharity to make sure I'm doing that right. Infection control is a must! I feel like there's so much and so little time but I feel like that's how we'll always feel. You'll never feel like you know enough for this test, just be confident and pray that God is by your side! Medications is also a must I bought the Kaplan Medications you need to know for the exam and am trying to memorize or apply them to certain situations. I also am taking an extra day with the review I was talking about which is Helen Feur where they have a whole day just for pharmacology, I hope it helps! I will pass the boards and SO will you!!!!

Taking NCLEX Jan 19th!
Good luck on taking your test. I know how you feel in some ways. I take my Nclex on the 27th but I'm doing a 5 day review with Helen Feur in NYC and then on the sunday after they have a whole day for pharmacology and I'm doing that as well. I hope this helps along with my studying. I'm using Saunders Comp review 4th edition and kaplan most used meds. I also have Kaplan Qbank to practice with and before next week I will have the Lacharity book for prioritization done. I've taken this test a couple times and when I say there's alot of prioritization there really is!!! Meds, prioritization and infection control are your main categories. Math is an easy level question remember that, and just try to know how to calculate with drip rate because under anxiety you tend to forget these things. Deep breaths during the test will help to get oxygen to your brain, relax! Don't let time get the best of you, one time I took the nclex I ran out of time and then the next time I took it I was trying to be faster which wasn't a good idea. Just focus on questions and not the time of quantity of questions that you have done. Ear plugs is a must!! You may think that you'll handle the noise but when the next person besides you is typing nonstop it ruins your concentration. I am going to be an RN because I need this, I've been through alot with this testing process and I'm not giving up. I can't be negative and I can't let this test take over me. I'm sure we all will become RN's. I hope that your testing experience is a good one and that you walk out an RN!

Failed NCLEX three times
Wow I really appreciate such encouraging words from you. Right now I'm going through maternity and making sure I know content well enough so that I may answer questions right. I go on Saunders and answer a question and if I don't know about it then I do an index card because writing it down helps me retain it somehow. I've tried so many ways of studying and I think this way it finally sticks. Thanks AVSRN for your advice I really appreciate it. After three times of taking this test I am trying my hardest to make this the last time I shall take this test and motivate others as you are doing. Yes, I really need to know infection control and prioritization really well. I have the Lacharity book that I'm going to finish before next week even arrives to help with that. I will have infection control known before next week even if I don't have to sleep for this! With meds I'm memorizing 24 meds a day from the Kaplan 280 most meds you need to know Nclex book so that I can have a good knowledge of basic meds, because when I took the nclex last time I felt like that was where I got alot of questions wrong. At what point do you feel confident that you know enough to take the Nclex because I feel that If I'm not scoring in the 80's in Saunders or High 70's with the Kaplan Qbank then I'm going to reschedule because I don't want to make a mistake and take it again if I'm not well prepared for it.

4th try
Wow congratulations on passing your nclex the fourth time. That really encourages me and makes me feel like I can do this, this time around! You used Hurst that's really good. I have that actually on CD's with the lectures I use it for each subject when I need motivating or to get me started. Like I love how she explained fluids and electrolytes, it just stuck in my head and now I'm good at endocrine because of her. How did you study with using Hurst? Did you have a certain technique? How many questions did you do daily, from today I only have two weeks till my test date and I'm getting anxious. I know I can do this properly. How did you study medications?

Failed NCLEX three times
Hey I wanted to know your study technique the last two weeks before your test. What did you do differently from the last time. My fourth time will be on Jan 20th exactly 2 weeks from today and I need to know what to do. I just bought the Kaplan Meds you need to know yesterday and I'm memorizing like 22 meds a day until my test date. Doing saunders questions and going over rationales and doing index cards on things i didnt understand. I also will make sure I do Kaplan Qbank completely before I test. Can you give me some pointers on what to do for these last two weeks?
