My nclex pn study plan, whats yours?
I thought so. Because the way the nclex tests. When I did the predictor test I actually didn't score very high. So when I took the Nclex I thought I failed and was checking the BON every day. Good luck on your test date.

My nclex pn study plan, whats yours?
Did all of what you suggested plus ATI questions. ATI was a part of our program. I passed on the first try with 77 questions. One of our instructor's gave us tips for test day. I ate a good breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, oj (brain boosters and my stomach wasn't growling to distract me). I also drove to the test site and allowed time for traffic and such. I couldn't even bear to look at a book the day before and it was recommended not to (I was already on burnout over questions, LOL). I brought the ATT and the list of do's and don'ts. I think my eyes were crossed a little when I left:D. I also thought it would be harder than what it was and believe me my heart was still pounding even after I tried the PVT and thought it could be true. Anyway sorry for rambling. Good luck to you on test day

Which semester is the toughest?
At my nursing school in GA the first quarter was the toughest.I believe we lost 9 out of 39. And the numbers kept on dropping until the end. Med-Surg was so boring. We had one lady that read strictly from the book and in the same tone (lost nearly everyone in her lectures). And if you were caught closing your eyes you were told to leave the lecture. Oh boy you talk about some red eyed people LOL.

what are some websites where i can go and take nclex mock test online
The NCLEX-PN Review 3000 is now up and running again. I have been using it and passed it on to my previous classmates. The site goes kinda in and out, but it is a great tool for just taking a few questions and breaking the questions up. The site is: http://legacy.southeast.kctcs.edu/nclexpn3000/mainMenu.do;jsessionid=33142B79BF06C877BE28E86171953F98 Oh and it requires you use it with Internet Explorer that is 5.5 or higher. Good luck studying!

New Grad in Georgia
Here in Columbus the majority of jobs for LPNs are at LTC. And the majority of them will give you the opportunity to work once you have been licensed. I will say the pay is not too bad. $12.88 plus $1.50 shift diff plus time and half on holidays and an extra $1 an hour on weekends. Wish you luck in finding a job. I am out looking also. I am thinking of relocating due to lack of childcare on the holidays (no daycare is open on these days) and weekends (one 24 hour day care) around here. So I am in a pickle. My kids' daddy offered his services in Charlotte NC. I am thinking about moving there, just waiting until I take the boards to do it.

Any Indianapolis graduate LPN jobs out there??
Recently graduated LPN had a job one minute then the next they wanted more experience . The only other option is a second shift job that would be hard to manage with my two kids. Making the decision to move to Indiana on the basis I can get a decent Med-Surg job. Looking for a day shift LPN job which is going to be difficult to find, I think. Anybody have any opinions on the job market for LPNs in southern Indianapolis??? Thanks

Which job would you take.....need advice
I guess the pay is average for my area (Columbus, Georgia). Pay will only go up $1 when I get licensed and the job is with the largest companies around. So I really am leaning toward the office job. And the only childcare I have is daycare, which is limited around here, and one of my children just started kindergarten. Thanks for the advice. Donna

Which job would you take.....need advice
Just a few days before Christmas I was offered a position as CMA/nursing license pending (I am a new Lpn graduate) in a LTC facility working a 3-11 shift, making $12.88 hour plus $1.50 an hour shift differential . And on another interview (a ped office) I am being offered a monday through friday work week, holidays and weekends off, and possibly the same initial pay as LTC . I have two children (a preschooler and a toddler) and I am a single mom. So I was thinking of the better option for my children - the doctor's office, but I know I will be passing on an opportunity if I don't take the LTC job. I am just confused. Help me please!!! The clock is ticking. I told the LTC facility I would give them a decision on Monday. And the doctor's office called Wednesday to let me know they were offering me a job, but I missed the call and they were closing early for Christmas Eve, and they plan on calling back on Monday to talk about the position.

Job Duties of LPN in doctors office
Hi there. Think I can help you out. It all depends on the office where you intend on working. I just recently interviewed with a doctors office with a very small staff. They want me to be able to (as a new graduate) weigh people, give shots, perform strep, mono, RSV tests, hemoglobin tests, and assist in the back with the doctor and assist in the front. So my duties will not be limited to any one thing. No holidays, no weekends, and a short workday on Friday. Hopefully I get the job, they seemed impressed. Long term care also offered me a job for $12.88 hour plus $1.50 shift diff. But the shift is 3-11 and I have two little ones. The sleep adjustment is something I don't think I could possibly make. And my oldest just started Kindergarten. Then you have to consider childcare changes and arranging for childcare when the daycare's are closed on holidays. So I have pretty much made the choice for the doctor's office. The pay I think they are going to try and match so that is probably not going to be an issue. Good luck, Donna

Any single parents going thru nursing school?
Just checking on your progress! I, too, am a single mother with a 5 yr. old and 2 yr. old. They are easily occupied sometimes. But an RN gave me great advise. Since I already have to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning she suggested getting up earlier to study. I have tried this since she suggested it and my grades have improved. I am a junior (ready to be a senior) LPN student. I live with my parents, because my baby's daddy was the big L! And I only work one 8 hour day a week. I have to devote all my effort into this because I am going to be the breadwinner for my kids. I really miss the me time though! I need to really find some me time. Oh and I also get childcare assistance which only ends up costing me $10 a week for both kids (because one is in kindergarten). I hope everything is going alright for you now.

Cheap books online? Textbook website suggestions??
Hi there, Just had to order some rental books from a rental company called www.bookrenter.com Also there is www.chegg.com for rental, but they don't have 2 day shipping. A good book comparison site that will search for the cheapest prices to get all the books you need is www.bigwords.com . This site will also link you to the right place to see if your book is still available. Check it out. It pointed me in the direction of rentals when I didn't even know they existed.
