  1. Hi, I will be commuting...
  2. Hi, I took them March 6th. Just got my letter on Sat. Good luck!! The waiting is the hardest part!!
  3. I just got my acceptance letter today!!! Just wondering if anyone else has received one yet? It would be nice to get to know some people who will be starting in the fall also. :)
  4. Has anyone applied there? Im waiting to see if I got in or not...
  5. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone is in the BC3 (Butler County Community College) Nursing program or has recently graduated from there. I have heard good things and bad things, like you do for all schools. I would just really like to have some information on what the program is like, the teachers, etc. from people who are in the program or have graduated from there in the last couple years. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  6. I'm going to apply for the fall of 2010. I will take the PSB in the spring. I took the test last spring, and passed everything but just missed the science portion by a little bit. So now Im just trying to get some more science courses done, that way when I hopefully get into a Nursing program all I will have to really worry about is the Nursing classes. Good Luck Everyone! Let me know how it goes!
  7. Not sure what book you are using to study from, but I used the Barrons book Nursing School Entrance Exams. I felt it really helped to prepare me for the test. Some parts of the tests in the practice book I did really well, other parts not as much. I'm not very good at math and that was my biggest worry on the test, and the Barrons book really helped to refresh my memory, and on the actual PSB test itself I felt wasnt that bad. The hardest part I felt was the science section. A lot of people warned me about that section, so be REALLY prepared for that part. Good luck!
  8. I took one class online and one class on campus each time so far. It has worked out pretty well that way. Much less expensive in childcare and I like doing the work at home. The classes I took at the school were the ones I felt would be harder like chemistry and some of the math classes.
  9. It believe it can be done. Im a single mom of two boys 5 and 1. My soon to be ex-husband left us at the begging of the year and I have no family around. I rely on babysitters when I can and friends that can help me out when they have the chance. I have taken most my pre-reqs this past summer and this fall. Im hoping to get into Nursing school by the Fall of 2010. I know it is going to be hard, but I think if you put your mind to something and work hard enough it can be done. I think it will be VERY rough at times, but just remember the ultimate goal. Good luck with everything!!
  10. aww thanks for checking! It has been ok so far since I'm just finishing my pre-reqs. I'm applying this fall to some Nursing schools, so Im keeping my fingers crossed. It is tough at times, especially since my family isn't around. Between raising the two boys on my own, school, working part time, and still having to deal with their crazy father sometimes who lives across the country, it can be exhausting. I just keep trying to look at the big picture at the end. Anyway thanks again for everyones replies so far, they are really helping to keep me inspired that this can be done as a single parent!
  11. Thank you very much for your reply. I'd love to hear what you think about the program once you start it! Thanks again
  12. Hi, I have another question for BC3 current or past Nursing students. Im sending my application in next week. I know it is very competitive to get into the school. Is there anything I can do to help set me apart in the applications? Should I write a short letter saying how much I would really like to go to the school and so on? Is there anyone here that was accepeted into the program and did you do anything extra to help make yourself stand out? Hope this makes sense. Im really nervous and really want to get in. Thanks!
  13. Thank you for your reply. That was very helpful. I had heard about Victorville Community College and that they had a two year waiting list. I was hoping to maybe get in somewhere the fall of 2010. Thanks again for your help! :wink2:
  14. Hi, Im a single mom and going back to school for Nursing. Im thinking of moving to CA to be closer to my parents so they can help with my kids while Im in school. They live near Victorville. Are there any good Nursing programs around that area or within an hour or so drive from there? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  15. I was a military wife. My soon to be ex husband just left my two boys I for a younger women. He is stationed in San Diego now and my boys and I are in PA. Im doing my pre-reqs. for Nursing school. Like you Im very nervous about balancing everything, but I believe if you want something bad enough you will achieve it. I don't have any family in the area so I have to rely soley on child care providers. I also have to find a way to supplement the income I was getting from him. I know what its like to be a military wife, very hard. You can do it though, especially if you have his support. Feel blessed that he is at least there for you on that end. My motto that I go by is everything happens for a reason. You can make it, just like I know I will.
