  1. Hudson Valley- $30,450 from Sept to end of June. 7a.m. - 4:00 p.m.. Required to come in 2 weeks in the summer for sport checks. During the summer I get per diem pay $100/day. I am in the middle school. The high school nurse makes $35,000/yr, they say it is because she has a higher population. She works 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.. I am seriously thinking of quitting. The responsibility, hours and lack of respect from the principal and district office is awful. The school district has no regard for nurses nor do they even understand the job we do. We are not in the teachers union, so our benefits are lacking. This will be my second year. I asked for a salary increase earlier this year and the answer was no. I will ask again, if I do not get one I will more than likely not be returning.
  2. I am a school nurse in the Ulster County NY. My salary is $30,000/year.
  3. Congratulations on passing. It has been a long road for you, but well worth it. Your story is inspiring.
  4. I agree with the other poster, don't share your grades. We have some catty ladies in our class as well. Avoid the drama, you don't have time for that nonsense.
  5. It is a review of all you have learned. There is nothing to really study. There might be a review book at the book store.
  6. sounds like a lot of money. Be careful with their contracts.
  7. I have heard St. John's is a great place to work. Good luck!
  8. I hope these websites help. We had a med calculation class and the textbook was very helpful, but the worksheets the instructor gave are nice. Best of luck to you.:) http://www.accd.edu/sac/nursing/math/ivprob.html http://classes.kumc.edu/son/nurs420/clinical/basic_practice_.htm http://classes.kumc.edu/son/nurs420/clinical/basic_practice_.htm http://www.oaklandcc.edu/Nursing/Docs/MedicationCalculationPracticeProblems.pdf
  9. I also own this Stethoscope and love it. I just finished 1st semester and it works wonderfully. Whoever gave it to you is a good shopper.:nuke:
  10. I really enjoyed it. The 2 instructors are wonderful, they really care about the students and want them to do well. The practicum teacher is patient and helpful. I was amazed when I took the final, at how much I learned. It wasn't easy, I really had to make time to study, but it is very doable. I wish you the very best on your first semester.
  11. I was on the waiting list for 2 semesters and got in this past fall. I just finished 1st semester at Meramec.
  12. Gee ******** at STLCC Meramec. It was an online class that met once a month. The day you have class you take a test and have a lab assignment. We met on a Saturday. We had labs to do online and we submitted them directly to him. He was an excellent instructor
