  1. Chemistry II?

Hi, I have looked over the requirements for a lot of schools, and I have read a lot of postings on this board that you should take chemistry and some say you should take organic chemistry and/or biochemistry. At the local universities here I see tw...
  2. we've been having heated - but not yet angry - discussions

That's right people act differently when they have to pay for a service. There is no "right" to health care! If you want health care pull out your wallet and pay for it. Stop coming up with new "rights"! You don't have a "right" to health care, ...
  3. we've been having heated - but not yet angry - discussions

What our government needs to do is deploy our Armed forces where they were intended to be deployed on US soil to protect the US from INVASION! That's right this is an invasion, and history has shown that if you are unable or unwilling to protect you...
  4. Pros & Cons of CRNA vs AA

Simple, the doctors have traditionally gotten almost all of the health care pie, and AA's are a way that they can keep control and set policy. The doctors want to recieve the fees for all services, and then HIRE helpers who do all the work and just ...
  5. Foreign MDs becoming US CRNAs

Nilepoc, I am saying that nurses have very little clout in politics which is one the problems with nursing. The AMA has sets the policies and direction for Health Care in the US, and if you notice the wages of doctors has always went up. You don't ...
  6. Foreign MDs becoming US CRNAs

Sure, but it is almost impossible for them to get a visa to get here and take the test, and even then they aren't allowed to just to take the USMLE to become a doctor. It's hard to pass a test that you are not allowed to take. And very few foriegne...
  7. Foreign MDs becoming US CRNAs

Well, our wonderful congress has taken up the issue, and given foriegn nurses priority for visas. They do not have to wait in the general visa pool they have thier own classification. This is not done for any other profession. They only have to ta...
  8. Do you believe in the power of prayer, do you pray?

The power of prayer is nothing more the power of the placebo to cure. It is the power of hope; it has nothing to do with God or religion. Think good thoughts and your body will respond, if it can overcome the problem it will.

  12. How do you pay for school?

Jewelcutt, I have never had a 403B before, and I think you are talking about a loan? I am talking about talking money out and not repaying it. You will have to pay taxes on it, but it would minimal or zero because you will very little income and yo...
  13. How do you pay for school?

Why would you stop putting money into your Roth, 403b, or any other retirement vehicle to save for school? When you put money into your Roth, 403b, etc. you are saving for school, only you are getting a tax break to do it!
  14. Mtsu

Susswood, while I may have not edited my text properly, it was more understandable that crap you wrote. Your statement, "I work with several Seventh Day Adventists who are very nice, normal people. They are not "nuts.", is a load of crap! Try takin...
  15. Mtsu

Hi, I don't know anything about about the MTSU and how it incorporates the Seventh Day Adventists religion into the program. The SDA are nuts, they are a cult that is waiting for (wanting) the end of the world. I doubt that they impose any religiou...
  16. Is there a way to become a NP without getting a MSN?

From everything that I have read a Master of Nursing (MSN) is the only graduate degree that will allow you to become an NP. There are probably more then 20 CRNA programs that do not confer an MSN degree, and several that will give Post Graduate Cert...
  17. Does size matter?

I have found three hospitals that I am interested in working to get critical care experience. Two of the hospitals have 200 beds, and one hospital is 750 beds. The big hospital is also a "teaching hospital" and a "Magnet Recognition for Excellence ...
  18. Does size matter?

I appreciate your reply Dave. It shows the wisdom of experience.
  19. Does size matter?

Wow, that quite a statement of support. In an earlier post you said, "have more autonomy, and you probably will be expected to be a smarter, beter nurse. All things good for your future as well as your stay in the ICU. " So, is just the autonomy a...
  20. Does size matter?

How much is working a "teaching hospital" worth? Suppose I can get a better deal (more pay, better benefits, etc) from a non-teaching hospital or smaller hospital? Do you think that it is still worth it to go to the "teaching hospital"? In the sch...
  21. Does size matter?

Thanks for the reply. Are you saying you think the big hospital that is has a nursing magnate award, and is a teaching hospital would be better experience, looks like better experience, or its both for me? On the applications for admissions to a CR...
  22. Does it possible with GPA<3.0?

Also, many universities will allow you into thier graduate programs without meeting thier requirements, and allow you to take 12 - 15 credit hours before they will require you to go through the formal admissions. If you do real well in those classes...
  23. How could non-nursing major graduates become RN?

You can get an RN license by getting a Diploma. Also, some of these maybe grandfather CRNA's who started practicing before the current educational requirements.

They report all tests scores, unless you abort during the test that is not reported. Most schools use the best score, and some use an average of all of the scores.
