Hello everyone.... I'm a new member and am really glad I stumbled onto this site. It has already given me invaluable information about the crna profession.. I hope by telling you about myself and the direction I'm going that maybe I could get some advice from the one's who have been down this road before. I will be graduating this May from the University of Texas at Tyler with a degree in kinesiology..I have recently been introduced to the crna profession from 2 people that I know that are attending TWU in Fort Worth and became very excited at the possibilities in the profession. I have to be honest and tell you that I didn't even know that this line of work even existed. So now I have a choice to make and that is to try and get accepted to a BSN program or pursue a PhD in Sports Management...But enough of this stuff because I don't want to bore anyone...I have just sent in my application to UT Houston to get into their new accelerated BSN program that is a year long and starts this summer..(if anyone knows anything about this school or program please let me know)..If anyone has any advice on how to go about preparing myself for what lies ahead it would be greatly appreciated...Stuff like after I get my BSN is it hard to get into an adult ICU unit right after graduating...It this normal or do you have to learn the ropes and start at the bottom??? Is TWU really one of the best crna schools in the country or am I being fed biased opinions??? And if you guys are in school or know of a great school please let me know....I hope to hear from ya'll soon... steven ( i know that this is corny but I'll do better in the future)
