  1. Morning Gwenith , Just logged on again after about 6 months away.(been studying). i think it is a great idea to have an aussies only page. At least we will know what we are talking about.:yeah:I will now log on a lot more, after my exam this week. After this one only two more to go. have a good day
  2. Must have been pretty dumb ambos if they can't tell a dead body from a live one.All the ambos iv'e called always check the patient/resident. Also you said it was an RN. Doesn't really say much for her either, does it.
  3. What state will you be living in?
  4. Div 1 and Div 2 are fully trained nurses
  5. No Mahage , I live in Victoria, Australia. A Div.2 or Division 2 nurse is one step away from Registered Nurse although RN's do more intensive training. By the time I finish I will be qualified to do a lot more than I do at the moment working as a PCA.
  6. You are never to old. I started my Div 2 training last year and I will be 60 by the time I finish(second time around) You will never regret it. Good Luck:prdnrs:
  7. Believe it or not I work night shift and the only complaint I have is with the night shift who work on the other nights. When I come back on duty it is always catch up for the things that they were supposed to do, but didn't. Mentioned it to my manager but go no response so it was a waste of time. I suppose that at least if I do it I know that it is done. Never(hardly ever have a problem with the day/evening shifts.
  8. I am a PCA in an Aged Care facility and I work night shift. This is a low care facility so I work on my own but I have an RN Div 1 on call.It is true that a lot of PCA's think that they know everything and a few, like myself have done their nursing but for one reason or another are working as PCA's.Do not tar all PCA's with the same brush. There are good ones and bad ones, the same as Div 1's or Div.2's.In regards to her documentation and family contact, yes, she was way out of line.Sounds to me like you did the right thing. Good luck in the future
  9. Definitely Victoria and try Mayfield Education. I am doing my Div.2 training through them and they have a great reputation.Good luck with whatever you decide.
