the atty says everything should be okay. and if I cant get clearance then it would just be separation. but because I have all of the supportive documents it should be okay. it was apparently rubber stamped denied because 2004 and 2005 do look bad. but my kid was always fed and clothed, I am sure I would have qualified for assistance but I did not take anything as every penny I have gotten I have earned. I havent had a credit card since my divorce in 96. the divorce was a messy divorce, it was publicized and was high profile as my ex is a very prominent physician in south florida. I never cheated on him ever, I did not even ask for anything in the divorce. but he was ordered to pay nominal child support. which he hasnt paid anything since 2005. always withthe threat of kidnapping him and taking him to the 3rd world #isshole from whence he came.

apparently when there is a 6-9 month span where a persons credit is bad and great before and after it looks like you started drinking,gambling,drugging, etc hit rock bottom got rehab and recovered although those time frames are are a little shorter to rehab than usual but not unheard of. turns out fema still has meticulous records of both disasters. including digital pictures. and everything from fema disasters 1545 and 1561. the attormeys say this should really be easy to get this straightened out as there is so much supporting documentation. everything was disclosed on application.

apparently there are alot of middle age single moms that have similar issues. I know of several going through the same thing.

all of her bills with in the past 3-4 yrs are current. when she lost her jobs when the hurricane hit lost her home she knew she was not in the position for a loan. she bought the car for 20k put 10k down and paid it down to about 7, since she could not afford the payments she voluntarily gave them the car. they said everything is square..she owed 7k trade in value was about 11. she never heard from them ever again. now this 7k debt is listed several times on the report. a report that she didnt even think she had access to. she has had 2 new cars since then (2005) financed them at 6pct paid 1 off and still current on the other one. there were a few very old medical bills that were above and beyond what the preferred provider was allowed to bill ins and the co-pay....as a preferred provider. there was no credit card debts, just that car and a few medical bills ranging from 12 to 230.

her commander is telling her that if she cant get clearance then she is OUT and there would be trials. having the debt regardless of reason or when is what makes it an offense. but she knew her credit was horendous and used that word in her application

army reserves. she is drilling. apparently being deliquent on those bills was conduct unbecoming an officer and a detriment to the entire unit. she calls herself connan....as in obrien not the barbarien. they want all moneys paid to her back including the sign on bonus. the court marshall will have to be reported to her federal job which will cause termination. will also be reported to the board of nursing.... she is a single mom just trying to get by doing the best she can with limited. there is less than 10k of bills but on this report it has a bunch of things listed 3-4 times each. some are for the aftermath of the hurricane in 2005 and some are small medical bills left over from a catastrophic accident in 1991. and these were small amouts above what the copay was

has anyone had any issues getting security clearance. I have a friend that comissioned over a yr ago they told her the background check was ok. she was from hurricane katrina and absolutely lost everything. home car jobs. during that time her credit went bad. the past 3 yrs she has done better financially but there are still some outstanding from 2005. she did disclose this on the initial application. they have now denied security clearance. and say they are now going to court marshall her. she has no drug etoh gambling or psych issues has a wonderful son that she did not get any or minimal help with either financially or otherwise. her son graduated valadictorian. SAR citizen award with 2 yrs of college credits. any one having any suggestions.???????

with my army uniform everything so far has been velcro, patches anyway not the combat boots we still have to tie them ; )

you might want to explore the BS to BSN programs, it is a condensed program usually 1 year for those without an RN but a prior BS degree. it might mean student loans but the army reserve will help you with those

reserve oblc is 26 days feb 25 til march 23

via my phone.....I am reserve component so I only do 4 weeks. I comissioned in jan 09 got orders to drill in may 1st drill june the education sgt is booking me for oblc. we set things up last weekend at drill after we went rapelling .and friday I finally got paid and my bonus. so I can afford lectricity now : )

I am going to OBLC in feb-march. a good time to be in texas and out of the frozen tundra of missouri

she got back to me and clarified that, she said diagnostic is done at oblc and then I to apft with the rest of my unit after I get back

I found out from training NCO that I cant go to oblc until I pass the apft. I thought we got a diagnostic apft at obc and tried to pass it then and if not when your unit does their apft

I am getting ready to go to my 3rd drill, I was comissioned in january, this coming drill they expect me to jump off a 50 ft tower with a rope apparently for free! when I drill I have to move my week end work day over and lose my differential which is 200, so I am not getting paid and losing 200 bux. The bonus that I was supposed to get in january is nowhere to be seen. I havent gotten the 600 for the uniforms I bought. I have my son's fall tuition bill coming due and in january I thought I would have the bonus by now. I keep getting yessed to death but no results. do they pay us at the end of the 3 year obligation? I am hoping to eventually go to OBLC then I will be deployable. I can tell you one thing for sure is that I cannot afford to be deployed for 6 or more months and not get paid. granted my job will be there when I get back but my savings arent that good yet. Should I have planned better for that or maybe get another job and save up just in case? I am looking to do some agency work on my 1 week end off a month to make up for what I am losing on drill weekends. how long did it take for you all to get paid (that is if you did get paid) I cant even send an ako email because they are saying I am in IRR and need a sponsor, when I ask for a sponsor they say I dont need one so I have no AKO access. I was going to try to take some classes this fall using TA but it seems that I am invisable when it comes to the army. what experiences have you all had do you get paid? how long did it take? so far I am almost 8 months from comissioning. thanks

I was worried about nothing he said the chihuahua stuff didn't come up on the search and it was just violation of a municipal ordinance. he asked about some credit issues when I got divorced in 96 and wanted to know why all of my bills were late in september and october of 2004 (I lived in st lucie county florida and we got hit by 2 category 3 hurricanes frances and jeanne direct hits 3 weeks apart he said that was good enough and welcome to the army.

guys, I am serious, not joking, I was arrested handcuffs and all. granted they were loose and in front of me. it was really about a property line dispute and I had a survey done like they requested and they didnt like what the surveyor found. so they had the mayor harass me that way. the town had only 200 people in it.

I got a call at work today and a contractor from OPM said he was doing my security clearance and I had to have an interview (it is scheduled for monday 2:30pm at the local IHOP) has anyone had this before or am I special. About a year ago the city in this little tiny town I lived in gave me a ticket because I didnt pay the $5 dog tag fee for a dog tag. They said my little 3 lb chihuahua needed a missouri rabies tag this was last july, roxy had just had her rabies shot in january in florida. I took roxy to the VET and asked for a rabies shot , he refused because she was already current and she was pregnant with puppies. I told the city about this and they said ok fine let us know when she gets another shot and register her then. I thought everything was ok then the town marshal that works 2 hrs a month for 8 bucks an hr. came and arrested me for possession of an unlicensed chihuahua. they took me to the county jail and let me out on 50 dollar bail. I pleaded no contest and paid the 150 dollar fine. the arrest and the case dont show up on any case.net or any computerized record. I told them about this on my application in detail. would they decide to kick me out because of this arrest and conviction of a municipal charge (not a misdemeanor not a felony) of possession of an unlicensed chihuahua.

at drill we tried to get me an ako account but couldnt. too bad drill is on weekends when main offices are closed. apparently my file wasnt quite ready to issue orders at least that is what they say ha ha. I only got orders after I went to my unit and the col. got on their butt and magically I got a call and email the very next morning. something gives me the feeling that if I didnt march into my unit that day I would still be waiting. as for drill it was easier than I anticipated I work at the va and I am used to having 6 to 8 pts at separate ends of the floor 2 getting multiple blood products, 1 on tpn, at least 1 etoher with a bac of over 400 going into dt's when their bac goes below 300, of course at least 1 alzheimers pt that is bound and determined to fall. 1 fresh cardiac cath, and of course they are all diabetic. I am usually physically running to get things done, usually after 8pm when visitors arent in the way. at drill we went in formation 4 times a day for a few seconds. heard a quick lecture on posse comitatis (cant go in and take over a state) waited around for folks to do their ua (everybody who shows up gets tested to compensate for those who dont show up) and then we just hung out. I run more at the va than I did in drill. so far anyway

I was wondering when we get paid. I got comissioned in jan. got orders in may, 1st drill in june and the recruiter that was at drill says it will take at least 90 days before I start getting paid for drill and he didnt say when I would get the bonus. I know of another nurse that has been drilling for over a year and she hasnt gotten her bonus yet. I also know of another nurse that comissioned jan. of 08 that opted for loan repayment and still hasnt seen anything with regards to that. has anyone else had any of these issues. when do you usually get paid for drill? does it usually start a few months after you start drill? I dont mean to sound greedy but I am trying to put my son thru college by myself and it is getting expensive. The commander told about educational benefits and tuition assistance are they as iffy about paying that as they are other things. Just getting a little discouraged, it took me 18 months to get to drill from the time I started working with the recruiter. any ideas? I was hoping I would get some of the bonus before the fall semester starts again.

this apft is new to me good thing I am 43 and not 18 have been working on the pushups and am down to the 3rd stair (started doing them on the wall) I joined the city's gym (no contract) and started running. or trying to run anyway. anyway I am getting better. prob wont do oblc till oct

will they make you do the pt test on your very 1st drill?
