  1. We allow patients to shower but it is our policy that they have to 'bathe' with the chlorehexidine wipes once daily.
  2. I took Kaplan and passed my first time. I also used http://www.amazon.com/Saunders-Comprehensive-NCLEX-RN%C2%AE-Examination-Nclex-Rn/dp/141603708X/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1310411629&sr=8-4
  3. I have the Littmann Classic II S.E. Breast Cancer awareness one. I love it. My only advice would whatever you buy purchase a dark color. My light pink on looks like skank and I have tried everything under the sun to clean it!
  4. We can override Vaseline but I can't get chap stick without an order, I guess they want their $1.00 for the chap stick!
  5. i know that feeling. i used to get only a's and b's but with everything that you have to do for ns on top of studying of the test there is no way that is possible. hope you get your grade up and pass!
  6. wow. I am surprised. We take our paper test after we've turn in our scan trons and I'll know as soon as I mark what questions I missed and such what I got. I don't think I could wait a whole week. But then again we do all of our test like this. It really helps though cause once you've made the mistake you can read it and know what the answer should have been and then learn from it.
  7. Thank you so much! That makes it alot clearer now! :smackingf
  8. Okay that makes sense. The second on I missed was: pH: 7.42 [N] CO2: 32 [L] HCO3: 27 [H] I put that it was Compensated Metabolic Alkalosis.
  9. We have a test tomorrow on ABG's. Just simple stuff. I was practicing them from http://realnurseed.com/abgm2.htm. But for some reason I missed two. I am trying to figure them out but have no idea why they are what they are. The first one is: pH 7.43 [Which is normal] PaCO2 32 [Low] HCO3 21 [Low] So would it not be Compensated Metabolic Alkalosis? Rationale for my answer: The pH is normal so that's not even the question; The PaCO2 is low which is respiratory; HCO3 is low as well which is Metabolic; That the pH is closer to the Alkaline side; So would it not be Metabolic? I don't know; someone please HELP! Thanks SO much!
  10. I am a student at Southern and in the nursing program. Not only is the program the best in the state it's also affordable. It is a hard program and really hard to get into. But I know anywhere in the southern part of the state (including Charleston) they will hire graduates and students from Southern first. I do know that applications should be due the first part of the year so if you're interested I'd call and try to get an application!
  11. You know you're a nursing student when.... .....your husband takes your dog to the vet while you're at school and when you get home get aggravated because he didn't know what it was given for and dosage amount. .... when you in-laws call and ask if they OTC meds with their prescription meds... ... and lastly when a test question is "What is an MI" and you have to actually think about what it is [[i just refer to it as a MI lol]] && thanks to everyone else! So many of these are true!
