  1. Yeah...."THATS JUST IT"...unfortunately PROFESSIONALLY I felt UNFULLFILLED soooo this will be my third degree!!!!! I took ALL of the prerequisites 11 years ago, with the exception of A&P II from talking with someone I believe that I will have to take A&P 1 again because its so long!! I MUST brush up on these old skills or else I will be DOOMED, thats why I am stressing SOOOOOO much because I know its been a long long time. I did purchase the study guide that was provided in the DCC bookstore when I went a registered for the exam..and OH YEAH its a doozer! I hope that you get in for FALL 09 semester, its something how they make US wait sooo long! I have everything that I will need for my acceptance I have even gone to apply BACK so that I can finish that darn A&P II. That would be a GREAT XMAS gift for you...I cant wait till its my turn...I will have much longer to wait...because I wanna apply for the SP 09 semester. Good Luck...pray for me...I need it!!! I will be on pins and needles until I get my acceptance letter!!
  2. THANK YOU..............I really am so excited, I have been contemplating nursing for the last year or so and finally I decided to just step out on faith and do it!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH....hopefully I will see you around CSN in SP 10.....GOOD LUCK!!:bowingpur IS CSN as bad as they say, how demanding is it?? Can you remember what is actually on the exam??
  3. THANK YOU Melissa.....I wish you and little "BELLA" LUCK!! Family is a tremendous blessing, that was my first issue. I had ALL of their support during my Masters program, while also working FULLTIME..its was PURE BURNOUT...but I did it!! I have NOT told anyone about my new career venture...I just wanna hurry and take the TEAS exam, apply, and in SR 09 when I (HOPEFULLY) get my acceptance..I can start SOLICITING the SITTERS :lol:!! I know that it wont be a problem because family always knows that the success of any single parent household depends on the success of the parent!! KEEP IN TOUCH..GOOD LUCK....US SINGLE M:heartbeatMMY'S gotta stick together..it is absolutely necessary for our sanity!!!:nuke:
  4. I am planning on entering the ADN (night) program at my local college for the SP 2010 semester, I am a single mother to a 2yr old and I also am a fulltime counselor. It is not a option on "TO WORK OR NOT"...I MUST work in order to provide/maintain/and sustain my household. This is nothing new for me, I also went through a Master's program while being a single mommy BUT this was when my daughter was a newborn and it was at the end of the program. While it was TRYING, HARD, and FRUSTRATING..I somehow survived!! My concern now is that since my daughter is older, she requires alot of attention..BUT...I know in my heart this is what I must do in order to secure OUR future. If there are ANY SINGLE parents (MALE/FEMALE/GUADIANS..etc)..PLEASE give me any pointers...they will be greatly appreciated.
  5. :dncgbby: CONGRATS, I am scheduled to take mine on 12/10...and I am horrified. I am terrible on standardized exams...but everytime I read one of these positive posts....I get EXCITED!!!:heartbeat:thnkg:
  6. :dncgbby:My neighbor is the person who I can credit for motivating me to continue my studies into the NURSING PROFESSION. This young woman absolutely LOVES her job, I know that she has had a pay increase because she as switched hospitals, and NOW she is talking about going to get her MSN so that she can go into the ANESTHETIST program........and make the BIG BUCKS!!!! I think you will be okay...a born and raised NEW ORLEANIAN is always welcome home!!
  7. GOOD FOR YOU !! I am not sure exactly where FOLSOM is....BUT here are SOME of your options: 1. Southern Univerity A&M (BR) 2. Baton Rouge Community College (BR) 3. Southeastern 4. LSU (NOLA) 5. Our Lady of Lake (BR, NOLA) 6. William Carey (NOLA) 7. Delgado Community College (NOLA) 8. Dillard University (NOLA) BIG UPS to US M:heartbeatMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!GOOD LUCK
  8. CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH POINTERS/TIPS for the TEAS test, I am scheduled for December 10, 2008. I am so nervous, I have started to study the TEAS study guide...BUT I am STUCK on the math portion...PLEASE HELP ME I AM FREAKING OUT. I really want to be a nurse, but this standardized test has me scared! :scrying::scrying::(:stone:stone:stone:sniff::sniff::eek::o:bluecry1::bluecry1::crying2:
  9. CONGRATS on your acceptance........HOW WAS THE TEAS test??
  10. :ancong!:
  11. I too must continue to maintain a household when I start the ADN program, but the school that I have decided to pursue has a night program, is that an option for you?? A night program will allow you the opportunity to "maintain" your life AND studies! It will be hard, but that is what SACRIFICE is all about, this will be my 3rd degree, my BS I was young and on my own, my MSW I had a newborn in the program, NOW for my ADN, my kid is two now but it is still going to be a fight..but you know what they say "ANYTHING WORTH HAVING IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR"!! GOOD LUCK!! *wine
  12. :dncgbby:*wine:dancgrp::nmbrn::anpom::ancong!:
  13. EXCELLENT.............WELL YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY NOW!!!!!!!!! :dncgbby::dancgrp::onbch::nmbrn::anpom::rckn::clphnds::ancong!:
  14. THATS VERY INFORMATIVE....I am a type I, I have been "DIABETIC" for 17 years now and I have never tested my BS on my arm. The question never occured to me about me being a diabetic as an issue, but now I understand I would probably test in the breakroom as well! The lancet device that allows you to prick the palm of your hand is GREAT that one also minimizes pain.................GOOD LUCK........and CONGRATS!!!!
  15. resigN, resiGN, resIGN, reSIGN, rESIGN, RESIGN!! Why would you stay and you know what the effects are going to be when other employers look at your record?? Hey, don't give your SCUMBAG MANAGER that much power...ITS NOT WORTH IT!!!! GOOD LUCK
