I have looked all over the Ribbon reg and can't find anything regarding Air Force guard ribbons. Are we authorized to wear ribbons earned in the guard that are specific for the guard (Ex. Adjutant General Award)?

Do we contact TMO of our gaining base to setup for shipment of our household goods or the base closest to us?

Can us prior service (AF) wear our AF training ribbon?

I am not sure about the ribbon for the skirt. But the service jacket, as officers you will have that black rope sewn towards the bottom of your jacket arms, alterations know

You are authorized 7 days of travel. Any days over that you will be charged leave. After COT you only have 2.5 days of leave.

Congrats and welcome... Where are you going? I am going to Travis. You can have snacks in your room, but they must fit in the plastic container (we buy when we get there) that is on the list. You are already supposed to know how to wear the uniform and they should be ready BEFORE you get there. 2 rooms share a bathroom and each room contains 2 people if I am correct. So 4 people share a bathroom. I am sure you can bring a book if you want, but you will be too busy to read probably.

-Anyone know how travel works after COT? Do they give us travel money upfront or GTC? Jmaverick: I was talking to someone stationed at Travis (that is where I am going also) and he said apartments in that area are for young adults as there are a lot of music and partying going on. Does anyone know if we can wear princess cut blues shirt? Also do we need to bring any nurse related supplies for "Warrior Week"?

I was stationed at Eielson, which is much more COLDER and DARKER than Anchorage and I LOVED it. If you are an outdoors person, you are going to LOVE Alaska.. That is where I want to retire

Who pays for the flight to COT? Are we as individuals responsible for this as well or does the recruiting/military pay for this?

I have NOT got my orders, not until I take and pass my NCLEX. I signed paperwork before Christmas to start processing my orders, so when I commission I will get my orders then. I should receive them a week after I take my NCLEX

I am going to COT in March and will be headed to Travis afterwards. I am very excited. I take my NCLEX next week, so I don't know what unit I will be working at yet. I can't wait to get to California. :)

What is the last week of NTP like? My husband and mother-in-law would like to come watch graduation and wanted to do some planning. What is the schedule like around that time? How soon after you graduate can you leave?

What exactly do we new graduate nurses do in NTP? Is it like an externship where we follow someone one on one, do we have Sim Lab situtations? etc... What are hours like with NTP?

I don't remember her name, but she was a O-6 who had specialized in OB in her early years, but she was the HEAD nurse, so she didn't do OB there. She was SUPER nice and easy to interview with. We basically talked the entire time, wasn't much of an interview. Look nice. She will ask a time when you were faced with an ethical dilemma. Ask you about your fitness (want to make sure you are fit to be in the military), ask about the AF mission and core values. Short/long-term goals? Why AF? Why nursing? VERY EASY interview.

Do AF Nurses get any extra "special" stipend (pay) a month or a yearly bonus for being in? Sort of like the Doctors do... Thanks

My husband and I really wanted Elmendorf, we were stationed in Fairbanks before. We are happy with Travis though. Glad to know someone who will be doing this journey right next to me.

I got Travis for NTP and my first assignment, but I am going to the March 9 COT. :)

My package went up for the November board and I just found out yesterday. I called my recruiter and asked, he didn't call me. Also I will be graduating Saturday from college and taking my NCLEX sometime this month. What state are you from? Beth

I am from Austin Texas and I got accepted! I can't wait to find out where. I put Elmendorf and Travis as my first choices. Beth

I'm actually prior Active Duty Air Force and am currently in the guard. So I am more excited, not to scared. I've been through most of it. I graduate college in Dec. I am more scared about being a new nurse and taking my NCLEX
