  1. Our program manager just wants a big picture of us framed nicely with all of the student's signatures. Just throwing that idea out :)
  2. I would hope your school supplies the students with the ATI book series? They are very useful and help you study more efficiently, not only for the ATI but also for the NCLEX.
  3. My total tuition for a 12 month LPN program @ a technical college in Georgia is about $5,000. Books: about $500 Georgia has the HOPE scholarship so I don't have to pay very much (maybe $300 tuition wise).
  4. My last qtr (OB, Peds & Leadership) begins April 1st and I graduate June 15th! I plan to works as an LPN for 2 or 3 years and then go back to obtain my RN. Eventually, I see myself in wound care.

Hi GaMommy81. I got your pm but I couldn't reply. Well, I'm not in the ADN program, I'm in the LPN program so I don't really know a whole lot about the ADN program. You probably already know it's very competitive. I assume you've already checked out the website but just in case: http://www.columbustech.edu/healthsciences/programs/nursing/default.htm
  6. That rumor that LPNs are going to be done with has been going around for years now. Yes, some hospitals are trying to reach complete RN status but LPNs will more than likely not become obsolete.
  7. Just finished up my first quarter(started July 7th) and school starts back up on Sept. 29. 1st Qtr: Nutrition and Diet Therapy (acquired credit in high school) Nursing Fundamentals Drug Calculations and Administration ...and on Sept. 29 I'll start on 2nd Qtr: Med-Surgical Nursing I Med-Surgical Nursing I Practicum Stoked!
  8. I was not required to take a drug test before acceptance. Although, while on the clinical site, I may be asked to take a random drug test.
  9. My interview took place inside a small conference room with 3 instructors. I was very very nervous the entire time but I just tried to speak without stumbling over my words as best as possible. Some of the questions they asked me were: Why do you choose Nursing?, What is your ideal nurse?, What is the difference between knowledge and wisdom?, and they gave me a scenario where I had to put them in order from the most priority to the least. The interview was shorter than I thought it would be but they only asked about 12 questions. I thought I bombed it but I made it into the program after all. Just take your time answering questions that way you can think before you answer.
