Can you challenge the CNA exam? I live in San Diego
Hello! I go to kaplan college and they offer a CNA course and there is no wait list. They start up a new course about every 3 months I believe. The cost is the only bad thing. It costs around $4,000 for their CNA class. expensive yes but if you want to get to work soon this is a quick option.

Kaplan college in San Diego RN program
i am a fairly new LVN student at Kaplan ( i started in jan of this yr) and so far for me the course work has not beem challenging AT ALL. Basically we have a test every night and our only homework is to read the chapter for the test. I find myself reading ahead when im not reading the assigned chapters. The teachers to me are often times unprepared and the lectures can sometimes be scattered. I can only speak for the LVN program. The RN program may be totally different.

Kaplan college in San Diego RN program
hello! im actually in the LVN program at Kaplan right now. I applied in December 2008 and started classes at the next start of classes which was this past January. I took two entrance tests to get in however. The SLE and HESI test are the only requirements to get in Kaplans LVN program.I took a few courses (not pre reqs) such as psych and nutrtion at a community college that I am getting credit for along with the pell grant and my tuition will actually be about half of the $30,000. That is still expensive but the time schedule is practicle for me being a single mother and having to keep my current job during the day to survive. People spend $30,000 and up for a brand new mercedes or bmw so why not use that money to further your education and start a career that could last a lifetime? just something to think about...

CNA classes in san diego?chula?national?
im not sure what a patient care tech is but if you want to go the community college/wait list route then getting your CNA is a pre-req for a few of the colleges. personally, i chose to go the vocational school route through Kaplan college. Its the quickest and most expensive route but the best for me.

CNA classes in san diego?chula?national?
You can try ECC, San Diego ROP and Southwestern college has a CNA class that is 6 or 8 weeks long that starts next week i believe. Golden Care Academy is another school that is near City College that you can check out. Hope this helps! :)

Info on Maric College LVN program
liberty_bell, I am still debating actually whether or not I am going to go to Kaplan. Basically in San Diego you either get your CNA license and get on the LVN waitlist or you can go to Kaplan college. So im trying to weigh out all my options. Either pay $$ or wait. Let me know what you decide to do.

Info on Maric College LVN program
heylo! i went to visit Maric college today and got some info on their LVN program. So the weekday program is 60 weeks (14 months) and is 8-3pm mon-fri and clinical is 6:45-3:30 or 1:00-9:30. The next class starts Dec 15. The evening progam is 80 weeks (18months) and is from 5:30-10:00 mon-thurs and clinical is 6:45am-3:30pm sat and sun. The total price is $28,862.00 thats w/ out transfering any gen ed classes (A&P, nutrition etc) Oh and the next time to enroll is Jan 09 or July 09. I plan on doing the LVN through Maric (or Kaplan college now) and tranferring to a CC for RN step up! There is also a SLE quick test that you must pass to be considered for the program. Its REALLY easy basic stuff. If you have any questions let me know!
