Anyone have any info? I am looking to apply for Fall 2013 for their FNP program.

Can i be a mother/baby nurse if I have never had kids?
I currently work on a mother/baby unit and I have no kids! Not having kids does not hinder my ability to provide care to my patients. I also get told I look young too!

I don't think I want to do FNP anymore?
I am feeling the exact same way! I just started the first semester of the FNP program and not 100% sure I would like to do this. I am also working and trying to complete the post masters FNP in 1 year. I am confused, but glad to know I am not the only feeling this way.

possible to work during NP school? or loans?
I worked full time while going to school for my MSN (almost done). I will start the FNP program in August and will work part time, but I have a feeling I will eventually go per-diem because I will be required to attend clinical a minimum of 3 days per week. I am married, but with no kids. I think it all depends on the person and their ability to manage school, work, family, etc.

OB as new grad possibly interested in FNP?
I am currently in an entry level masters program. I have been working in postpartum/nursery for the past year and will start the FNP portion in August. I have zero med/surg experience and went directly into OB as a new grad.

LAC+USC interview new grad RN
I already have a job, but I thought I would still give a heads up about available jobs through the county :).

LAC+USC interview new grad RN
I had my interview back in March and passed. I received a call from the RN recruiter a week ago to set up an interview for a RN position at LA+USC Hospital. Thought it was kind of odd they were calling me because I i thought we had to call them to see what hospitals were hiring. Either way looks like they are looking for nurses which is good to hear!!!!

New Grad RN with over 100 applications out.
I am too a new grad and interviewed with LA County back in March. I passed the interview and they told me I would have to call around to the various hospitals to see if they are hiring. I now have a job at another hospital but I received a call from LA+USC to see if I was interested in setting up an interview for a RN position. I would try LA County if you haven't applied there, although the process can take some time.

California's 2011 New Grad Program
My initial interview was with HR at LA USC County Hospital. I actually just received a letter in the mail stating that I passed the exam (interview) and my name is placed on the eligible list for registered nurse positions. When I had my interview, the lady interviewing me informed me that once I receive my exam result then I can start calling the various county hospitals to determine if they have any open positions. So the interview allows you to be placed on the eligible list, it doesn't mean there are positions available. I actually accepted another position as a RN, therefore I will not continue with the process. Hopefully this helps some :)

"Superuser"?
I only attended day 1 of orientation because that same day I was offered a RN position closer to my house and in the unit I wanted to work in. Do you work at Glendale?
-
"Superuser"?
I was surprised by the amount of people they hired. They had 3 shifts (day, evening, night) for each unit to fill. So for L&D there were two CPOE users for day shift. I am not sure about the other units. They didn't say how many they would hire as RNs. They kept emphasizing that "this is your time to shine". The orientation started in April and I believe the position ended in June sometime.
-
"Superuser"?
The pay at Glendale was what their new grads make. And during downtime you can assist the RN, but no medications, no IVs, no procedures (foleys,NGT,etc). It's a good way to get your foot in the door and interact with managers and other staff members.
-
"Superuser"?
Is it a phone or in person interview? When I applied to Glendale Adventist it was a phone interview first and then a open house interview. They ended up hiring around 60 people. I was offered a position there on the L&D floor on day shift. Some people ended up getting their 2nd choice unit. When I had my interview they said to pick my top 2 units. I first interviewed on the phone with nurse recruiter. At the open house I interviewed with the director of L&D and also the CPOE RN. If you have any other questions feel free to send me a message.

Corona Regional Medical Center
Thanks :) The position I was offered paid the same or I think a $1.00 less an hr than what their new grad RN is paid. Good luck on the interview!

Corona Regional Medical Center
BellasRNmommy: I was offered a position at Glendale Adventist for the "CPOE Superuser" position, but declined it due to another job offer. I think it's the same type of job you are mentioning. You are basically assisting the staff to help ease the transition to computerized order entry.

What career step got you into OB?
I'm a new grad in California that was hired for couplet care. I would suggest NRP and Basic Fetal Monitoring. The director informed me that if an applicant didn't have NRP she wasn't even considering them.

Finally Got A Job!!
Thank you! I feel bad because I know there are many new grads that are searching for jobs and here I am declining offers and interviews, but I know I made the right decision. I am very grateful for these opportunities, but I am so happy to have landed my dream job. I just declined the offer yesterday so maybe they opened up the position again. Hopefully it opens up a spot for another new grad.

Finally Got A Job!!
I had the panel interview and was offered a position, but declined it because I was offered my dream job in LDRP at another hospital!! That is such a great offer at UCI! I applied for some positions there, but never heard anything back. I bet you are happy to sit back and relax now that the job hunt is over :)

Finally Got A Job!!

Mine says route for Birthing Center.

California's 2011 New Grad Program
gettingcloser: I applied for both, but I am no longer interested because I have found a job. If I hear anything on my end I'll post it. I had applied for other positions at UC Davis a couple months ago and never heard anything at all.

Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital
nicrn7: That is the same information I was told. I left a message for the nurse recruiter and she never returned my call. The HR employee said they do not give status updates either.
-
California's 2011 New Grad Program
The status for UC Davis is generic to all applicants. Mines says contacted for interview, but that is not specific to my application. Good luck everyone :)

CHOC New Grad Program Summer 2011
My status still says under review and I applied for PICU.
