  1. I hate emptying the suction canisters into the toilet....it like goops out...yuck. And this may sound dumb, but I cant stand to do accuchecks. I hate punching all the numbers in, sticking the pt., then drawing up insulin and sticking the pt. again... Insulin drips are even worse!
  2. Who the hell would want to? :chuckle
  3. I work at Christiana Hospital. Great place to work. There are alot of different areas to choose from and they offer great internship programs if you are new to nursing. Christiana is in a nice area and the facility is very modern. I haven't been to Wilmington campus very often so I don't have much first hand info on what's it like to work there. Although I have come across many people who work there and love it. Hope this helps! Good luck in job hunting. :)
  4. Just wondering if anyone else feels like this. I started a new job about a month ago (first RN job) and feel like a complete idiot. Somedays are really good then other days I feel so overwhelmed with what paperwork to fill out, who to call, etc. I feel that I can't do anything right and that people look at me like "who let this girl graduate school!" It's just so frustating sometimes. I know it takes a while to feel comfortable, I just want it to happen already! Anyways just really wanted to vent a little....thanks. :uhoh21:
  5. I had Klogs brand shoes with the open back and after the first night I never wore them again. I found that they stretched out and sometimes I'd be walking fast and walk right out of them. Wasn't until after I got off my 12 hour shift that I realized I was curling my toes to keep them on when I was busy...OH my feet were sore that nite. Since then I've changed to Land's End All weather mocs with the closed back. They are great! And not too bad looking either. Lar
  6. Hey great of you to bring it up. I was also thinking the same thing the other day. Would love to know how everyones job is going (for those who have started). I have taken a long route to get to where I am now. Graduated in June and took the summer off to live at the beach.:) Started work as an RN in October and didn't like the hospital at all. Was a great learning experience though and even though I was not even there for 2 months I learned sooo much! After much debate, realized that I was not happy where I was, loved the actual nursing part, but not crazy about the city (I had moved far away). Moved back home and got a job at a hospital that I had worked as an extern in, that I love. Start ICU internship Feb. 2nd. Can't wait, though I'm nervous! So 8 months after graduation and I'm still a "really new" nurse...hopefully will find my niche soon! How is everyone elses jobs going?! Lar
  7. Congrats Christine! Good luck with your job! Doesn't it feel great?:)
  8. Hey Fourbirds! How did your first night shift go?
  9. Exercise, go out with friends, read books (other than NCLEX books!), study questions, and you should be fine! Good luck! Laurie
