Hi Lori, I am just starting to look into travel nursing, but have been doing a lot of research. I went to the following website: http://forums.delphiforums.com/travelnurse There were quite a few forums talking about how much they didn't care for American Mobile. I personlly have no idea if that information is legitimate, but you might want to check it out. Hope that helps! Jen
  2. I am so sorry! I can't even imagine how you must feel. Try not to get too discouraged. I know there really isn't much anyone can say to make you feel better, but try to keep your chin up because you and I know you can do it!! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers - Remember the 3rd one's the charm;) Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. Jen
  3. Good luck!! I'll be thinking of you - It sounds like a good sign to me though, especially because you have been studying hard and preparing for this. Let us all know how it turns out! :) Also, in NY my license was posted on the Board of Nursing about 36 hours after the test and I had my license in the mail about a week after.
  4. Post Boston - I too feared going into nursing because I always found science courses tough. I had always had a love for nursing, but when I graduated from high school and was deciding on what to pursue a degree in, I chickened out and started going to school for an Accounting degree because Math was always my strongpoint. I attended a University that also had a Nursing school and one day I just woke up and said to myself I should go check it out and see exactly how much science I would need to take, etc. I went and was so scared to switch my major to nursing because I really felt like I was setting myself up to fail because I knew how bad I was in science. Well to make a long story short, I decided to switch my major to nursing because I knew that was what I wanted to be and I felt if I wanted it, then I could do it. I won't tell you it came easy to me, but I studied hard, went to every class, and tried my hardest. I did have some C classes, but I'll tell you all my other nursing courses and clinicals I did wonderful in. I know you can do it if being a nurse is what you want to be. When you really want something you can do it. There may be days you will struggle, but when that happened to me I would talk to a classmate or the professor if I needed any extra help on the topic or to better understanding something. I'd say go for it! I'm a new grad nurse just getting started, but I love it already and know there isn't anything else I'd rather be at this point in my life. Good luck and let me know if I can be of any help. Jen
  5. Congratulations Christine!!!! I knew you could do it!! Good luck with your new job as an RN!!
  6. Christine - I'm so happy you have a good feeling and took your time to answer all the questions. I have heard that when you get 265 questions, it usually basis your results on your final question. An instructor at my Kaplan course told me that is true, but if that is the case I don't think that is really fair. Anyways, don't let that bother you though. You really seemed prepared for this test, so I have a lot of confidence in you that you passed. Be sure to keep us all filled in. Enjoy your weekend and try to relax now that it's over (i know, easier said than done). :) Jen
  7. Good luck Christine!! I know you can do it. I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers as well! Be sure to keep me posted on how it goes. Jen
  8. I just wanted to let everyone know that I passed!!! I finally did it!!! Thank you so much for all of your help/support. It really helped hearing from all of you. Good luck to everyone else taking them! I know you guys can do it too!! Keep me filled in on how everything turns out. Jen
  9. I just wanted to let everyone know I took the exam this morning! I can't tell how I did, but I sorta have a good feeling (I don't want to jinx myself though:) ) The computer shut off somewhere around 100 - I was trying not to pay too much attn to what number I was on, so I lost track and it shut off when I wasn't expecting it too. I'll keep you guys posted when I get my results. Good luck Chrsitine and Peaceful2100!! I know you can do it!!
  10. Thanks NicuNsg! I really appreciate all your advice and support. I'll be sure to fill you in on how it goes tomorrow. I too, will be wearing something red and eat something salty;)
  11. Thanks for the advice. I know this all seems so obvious on what to do to relax, but let me tell you I am really having trouble focusing this time around! I think it's the extra pressure of knowing this is my second time around and everyone at work is awaiting the results as well. Chrislynn, good luck on your exam too! I know we can both do it! We both seem prepared. Keep me updated on how you do. I am taking mine on October 8th, so I'll let you know how it turns out. Just think we will soon be RN's!! :)
  12. I was just wondering if there were any 2nd time test-takers out there that have any extra advice on going to take the boards again. I am starting to get really nervous because not only is this the 2nd time, but it's the 2nd time my job is holding my RN position for me and if I fail again, I'm worried they will no longer hold it and just tell me to re-apply when I finally become and RN. I know the key to passing the boards is to stay calm and relaxed. I am trying, but for some reason I have butterflies in my stomache worse than last time. I have been studying all along, took Kaplan, and know I have done my best, but I still have that dreaded fear of not passing. I try my best to think positively, I am just soooooo nervous!! If anyone has any advice on how they dealt with these fears prior to the test it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
