  1. They dont keep a running waiting list. You have to have cpr, first aid and your cna class done and be listed on the registry and have completed any classes if you didnt pass the accuplacer test at the correct level. Once you have all that done you can hand in that packet proving you have it all done, and then your in! If it fills up they will keep 5 people on the waiting list for that semester incase others change their mind before starting. I was 3 on the list and got called within 24 hours after handing in my stuff and was told I was in. You can find the check off list on their site for the things that need to be done before starting. I was able to complete that list in about 1 months time. I took a 3 week CNA class and my state test a few days after to get on the registry. Just let me know if you have any questions! Good Luck!
  2. Today was my first day of Nursing classes on campus (Yikes). I started other classes on Monday online (A&P, Med Term, and English Comp). Wasn't to bad yet, a lot of just reading the syllabus for each class and we need 80% in each to pass the class. All test need to be 80% or better, math needs to be like 90% and that is based off of 3 test making up 100% of your grade for the semester. If you score below 90% you can just pack up and go home because you will fail the course. So far the material doesn't seem to complicated, just time consuming and lots of reading. So I am off to go read all night long!!
  3. I start tomorrow too!! Few more hours, and I should have access to my online classes..I bought all my supplies and book bag so I am all ready to go lol!!!!
  4. I have one week to go too and I'm freaking out more and more everyday. I have a few online classes also so I logged in lastnight and saw my online classes listed, so I was clicking through the A&P class...lets just say that I am scared to death of that class lol and Medical Term. But I just keep reminding myself that millions of others have made it through this so I can too!! (fingers crossed!) :nurse:
  5. Good luck to all of you that start this week! I have orientation on Thursday, and then we start next Monday!
  6. I have that and Ant & Physiology online so its freaking me out! lol
  7. I applied at some Hospital so that i can get into the feild a little but no calls yet However I am already freaking out over Medical Term. and the class hasnt even started yet. lol
  8. Woofta!!! Now I am even more nervous lol. So your program must be set up different. We picked our classes from avaialble times, so we all wont be in the same class together all day long. Like I could of selected to take intro to practical nursing from about 8 different classes and times, and so on. Are you all together in one group all day all year long?
  9. Good luck to you all!!!! I dont start until next Monday the 25th..you will have to make sure you come and tell us all about your first day!! :w00t:
  10. Can you transfer to the night CNA class?
  11. Awesome! Im so nervous but yet so excited to get started. Thanks for replying!
  12. Will do! Buffalo is right up the road from me, I just applied at the Monticello BL hospital for a NA position. Did you like to program at ATC?
  13. Wow! I just read all of those post, thanks for sharing! You had me crying so hard and then laughing so hard I cried lol... I start school in a few weeks and can't wait to get started. Every time school gets hard, or overwhelming and I feel like quitting I will come back to this thread to remind me what nursing is all about! Thank You all so much for sharing your stories!
  14. Awesome! Congrats! :hpygrp::anpom: :stdnrsrck:
  15. Congrats!!! Our nursing program works like that also. First come first serve as long as you have the prereqs done and even those are way easy. You just have to have all transcripts sent, first aid training, CPR training, and a Nursing Assistant training course so I was able to get all that done in 3 weeks. When I applied though I was 3 on the waiting list but they called me back in less then 24 hours to say I was in!! I am aslo starting this Fall....Good Luck to you in your classes!!
