LVN salary in Texas
last year as an LVN working in dialysis at Davita I was making $21 finished RN school in may 2010 and Davita offered me $27/hr so I said goodbye and got me a job at a private dialysis center making $34/hr with only 4 months of RN experience, I was only an LVN for 1 year and a dialysis PCT for 16 years. All this took place here in Houston, Texas. Sometimes it's good to move around to make ends meet. When I became a nurse, dialysis clinics did not take my PCT experience in consideration.

Does anyone know how to study for NCLEX with Hurst Review
I studied Hurst for CONTENT and Kaplan for question, Yes I bought the 2 reviews and it was well worth. Hurst questions are too easy and NCLEX are on Kaplan level, they resemble. Kaplan is not good the content only helps on tackleling a question. I combined both!!!!

Just took exam and PV pop-up with....
This is the way I studied: 1.I studied for 1 month and a week 2.Hurst review (live) just before I finished school to pass HESI. 3.Feuer Review and Feuer Review Pharmacology in AUDIO for my Ipod that I got from friend. 4.Kaplan Review in center, I asked “who is the most requested/excellent instructor?”, and I took her! (in Houston-Janice De Falco) 5.Lots of Qbank questions from Kaplan, Kaplan sharpens your critical thinking skills and tested what I learned from Hurst and Feuer (Hurst and Feuer are CONTENT based) Kaplan teaches you how to answer questions. 6.Studied on my own. 7.I studied 5 days/week, 5 hours a day only, the 2 days I worked I didn’t study and restaurant/movies 2x a week. 8.No alcohol/partying or friends, NO NO NO! 9.When I listened to Feuer, I took notes! 10.I am relieved now after I saw the good pop-up on PV website! 11. I lit up a "Saint Joseph" candle and prayed! it worked!

"The candidate currently has an open registration for this exam. A new registration cannot be created at this time." I have no clue if I pass or not. I probably need to wait longer. i did the PV trick 1 hour after finishing exam.

Omnibus LVN in Houston Anyone?
All of these "correspondence" schools from the Philipines shouldn't be approved by the Texas BON, they only offer 2-3 months clinical, that is not SAFE nursing practice. I used to work with this guy that took Kennedy Global and cannot pass the NCLEX! Texas needs to ban all those programs! those programs are misleading with lack of clinicals hours. Locals are being under prepared and is an easy ticket for the ones that live in the Philipines to come to the US. I wouldn't like for someone to take care of my sick mother that graduated from a "correspondence" program. this just makes me angry!

My Study Guide For HESI - Passed On First Try!
This HESI testing strateties are so good, I took mid-curricular HESI and I failed it (but still passed to nsg3) but when I read the rationales, HESI was only asking for very simple answers and my brain went bananas. I will take the exit HESI in May and I will apply these strategies because I think they go straight to the point. thank you. I wish they had some sort nursing school specific test-taking strategies on DVD to compliment my learning? thanks again. please add more of your strategies.

Took it for the LVN NCLEX, took test last week and passed with no problems. Hurst Review is excellent!!! I will use it for my RN test too!

I'm in Texas, EC is well accepted here. Today I decided to talk to my boss and demand less working hours and try 100% on raising my grades and leave EC as plan B. but seriously is the clinical part EC that bad? thanks for the advises.

Could Excelsior be my answer? Need advise
Hello, My nursing program have four semesters (nursing 1, 2, 3, 4) I did excellent in nursing 1 & 2, but in nursing 3, right now I'm not doing so well (failing now), my job is overworking me and since my job is paying for my school they think they have the right to work my schedule as they wish (work 25 hrs/week but scattered all over the week and on call). In nursing 3, NS turn up a notch on critical thinking and with me working an unpredictable schedule it is not working for me. I want to continue nursing but right now I'm broke because I work 25 hours a week. On friday I'm taking the LVN exam because my RN program is a dual career (RN & LVN at same time) and I was thinking of changing to Excelsior. I need advices, thanks.

exit LVN HESI, can it really predict the passing of NCLEX?
Took the exit HESI for LVN and scored an 830. my school doesn't required you to pass to graduate, it is only for us to predict how well were are going to do on NCLEX-PN. With the my score of 830 are the chances good to pass the NCLEX-PN? :heartbeat
