  1. I would ask the patient what they are comfortable with. I have a trans FTM client that prefers to only have female nurses give him care, especially his testosterone injections.
  2. I work in a community health centre and mine disappeared for about a year. Then one day it appeared out of the blue again. Just wonder where it went for that whole year, cause I looked high and low when it first disappeared.
  3. Until you said kids, I thought we worked in the same clinic. LOL
  4. Caught a client who is an IV drug user hanging around the fridge where we keep our immunizations and some patient meds. Come to find out she had swiped several vials of pneumovax and a bottle of Insulin. When I confronted her and retrieved the items, she stated "I thought it might be heroine". Yeah, because we would keep heroine in our fridge.
  5. I live in Vancouver BC and they did this several years back but with RNs only. They grandfathered in many of the nurses who had been working for years. I know that for the health authority that I work for, you get a monthly bonus if you have your degree. LPNs still have their own scope and practice and their education varies from province to province from 1 year to 2 years.
  6. I just finished my PN program this past May and I have to agree with Spritz. If you find classmates the you relate to well its good to form a study group. You will find that most all have something to contribute. However, be leery of those who are always wanting you to give them your notes and never want to contribute. I was lucky to have a GREAT GROUP!!!!! Good luck and just remember to breath.
  7. Has anyone taken the LPN to BSN program recently? I was thinking about taking this route and wanted to get some feedback that is more current than 2006. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks and Cheers.
