Alternatives to wristwatches?
My husband made a watch for me after he saw one in a catalog for $$$. He took a watch I already had, attached it upside-down to a clip and cut off the rest of the band. I wear it clipped to my collar, where I can read it right-side up and it never gets wet when I wash my hands. btw, I wash to my elbows every time and I've never gotten sick (so far).

is Elite Continuing Ed legit?
I got an unrequested home study course in the mail for NY Infection Control & Prevention of HIV and HBV. It's an open book exam for $15. Is it legit? Is it required? Should I save my money? Thanks very much for all your help.

Remembering September 11th!
My husband & I were vacationing in NYC, and were scheduled to fly out that afternoon. We were stranded for another 24 hours before Amtrak started running. We checked back into our hotel, and watched it all on TV, same as you did. The call went out repeatedly for blood donations, for emergency personnel to report for work, for construction workers to aid in the rescue, for medical professionals to skip their day off. It haunts us to this day, how useless we were in the face of such awful need right outside our door. I'm in nursing school right now, primarily because of 9/11.

My husband has Cancer and not sure If I should go to school this fall.
There is such a huge difference between the different 'cancers' and 'treatments'. My husband worked a 40 hour/week job thru his chemo. Once you have more info, you can make reasonable decisions. I advise you both to find a support group, Gilda's Club is a great one. You will find others in the same boat, with practical advice & much kindness. The main thing is, you 2 are a balanced TEAM. Do not let anyone separate you, or discount you as merely the 'caregiver', or merely the 'family', as if only the patient counts. You both need each other more than ever. Please please keep in touch, with yourself, your husband, and us.

Anyone 40 Or Older Starting A Lvn Program??
I have got you all beat! I'm so old, I enlarged the font just so I can see what I am typing. I am 49, and had my orientation meeting last night. Expected to see lots of teenyboppers and a handful of 'adults', and to my surprise, I found just the opposite. And I'm not the oldest dinosaur in the room, either! Take heart, my friends. We DO have what it takes to do this and succeed.

what are my chances for acceptance! TCC
My college advisor wrinkled her nose at my 'vintage' high school transcripts with 3.7 GPA. The RN program is highly competitive, with >400 qualified applicants for All the very BEST to you. :heartbeat
