% of Nurses that smoke
I have been working in the medical field for a few years and I was very surprised to find the number of nurses and other healthcare workers that smoke. I found this statistic on a few different websites that I found interesting. "the number of registered nurses who smoked dropped from 11 percent in 2007 to 7 percent in 2011, the study found. That's an overall decrease of 36 percent, and nearly three times higher than the 13 percent decline in smoking among the general population during the same period."

Exercise Physiology Nurses
I work as an EKG tech in a cardiac step down and CCU unit right now monitoring rythms / interpreting ongoing rythms. and communicating with cardiologosts, rn and rt's. I'm about a year away from getting my RN. Do you think working in cardiac rehab could be possible as a new grad ?with my experience and dual degrees? Thank you !!

BSN vs ADN in Cleveland/Akron Area
You'll be at a disadvantage being a new grad rn at tri c. Its not a good nursing school. They lost there accreditation. Even though they may have got it back recently it still is not a good program. If you want to work at a big hospital like the clinic, akron general, summa you need your bsn. An adn will get you a job at small hospitals.

Any Nursing Students for Spring 2014 for Tric?? Cuyahoga Community College
I would not advise going to tri c. They lost there accreditation. Its not a very reputable program in ohio. Try transferring to kent state or akron.

I'm a new nursing student and just got a job at an hospital as a cardiac monitor tech. I also have a degree in exercise physiology. My job will be to interpret/read ekg findings on patients. Has anyone had this position as a job ? My hope is to land a RN job in Cardiopulmonary rehab when I graduate.

Certification and/or job recommendations for a pre-nursing student
My best advice is to find some sort of part time nursing aide job in a hospital. It will benefit you in 2 ways. One is that it will help grow you as a nursing student along with clinicals(experience). And 2, it will help you land a job either at that same facility or other hospitals post graduation. Its tough finding a new grad rn job. Therefore your application with prior experience will stand out more vs the avg non experienced new grad rn.
