  1. @justin 100784 In your opinion can a student work full time and complete the full time program at Walden? I recently got accepted and I'm trying to figure out if I should go full time or part time. Also any tips?
  2. Hello. Have you completed the program yet. I wanted to know what you thought of it. I am in the process of applying now. I got intoWalden but I'm still waiting to hear back from other schools. If you finished do you feel like the school prepared you to set for your FNP exam?
  3. Applesxoranges what school are you enrolled in for your FNP program?
  4. Hello. I'm in the process of applying to this program. Please share your journey!
  5. Hello everyone! Did anyone get accepted to GSW? I'm applying for fall 2016. I wanted to get some insite of the program.
  6. Thank you Azor. May I check back with you later to ask how things are going after you start the program?
  7. Hello Azor, I am starting the application process for Spring 2014. Did you decide to do the BSN-DNP program? Any advice for applying? Were you called for an interview? If you decided to go with the program how do you like it? Best of luck to you.
  8. Thank you so much for this post. I started a 2 day PCCN review course at work. I feel like its NCLEX all over again. I welcome advice and more facts!!
  9. I start on 10-10-11 with all the other new hires.
  10. Its an intermediate ICU. But don't worry sometimes if census is low you will get floated to other ICUs. Its a great way to get your foot in the door. Not sure if the patients are vented.
  11. Hey There's no 5G she must have meant 5E. That's an intermediate med surg ICU. I got into the CV program & I have been waiting for them to hire you guys so we can all start together. The HR is suppose to send you an offer letter detailing your income, contract, & etc... You will have to comme in to sign it before starting. 2nd day of general nurse orientation you will learn about benefits. Congrats again!
  12. C did you hear anything yet??
  13. Congrats! Usually you are not given a unit and the decison is made half way during the program. I believe you will still rotate. The change is made to the amount of classes you will take during orientation. Some classes you wiL take when you're on you're own to save time. What unit did you get? When is your start date? Are you a new grad?
  14. Good luck Chris. I hope you get it. I thought they were starting you guys in september. Was the the interview just for ICU?
  15. I graduated in May from Mercer. Our current passing rate is 98% for first time test takers! Out of 103 that sat for the test only 2 failed. 3 people still haven't taken NCLEX. I'm really proud of my class!
  16. when you are answering the clinical questions think out loud. Make sure the can see that you are critically thinking to achieve the answer. Esp. for critical care.
  17. Congrats! I hope you get what you want. Yes I have been accepted already. Just waiting for them to hire more people so we can all start class. Did you go to school here in GA? Keep me updated on how everything turns out. Yes I was a tech at Piedmont.
  18. Congrats Hopeful! Did you go to Emory? Jenn good luck on your interview!
  19. Good morning! Well congrats b/c your one step closer to getting an interview. Once they take a look at your application hopefully they will call for an interview. I know that who gets hired out of the group will start in September with me! Also if you get called for an interview there will be a med calc test you must do before the interview. This is usually on the same day. If you do not pass the process stops there. The test is the same as what you learned in school. Pay attention to what the question is asking and know how to focus in a noisey atmosphere. They give you the test in the employment center and people are coming in and out of the door. What did you put as your 1st & 2nd choice areas on your application? I will be in the cardiac program. Can't wait to start!
  20. Update on Piedmont pay: The new grads that started this month are getting $23.55 per hour. Piedmont has adjusted their extra pay for nurses to $3.50 evening $4.50 night and $4.00 weekends. For now ICU is not hiring new grads due to the decrease in the program months from 5 to 3 months.
  21. I was given a med math exam before my interview. It was similar to the ones given at school. Here is what mine covered: 1. know your conversions 2. asked what time the med will finish 3. asked ml/hr 4. said to round to the 1st decimal place 5. ped, IV, po, med math questions
  22. Hello Tait! What hospital gave you a sign on bonus? I was under the impression that none of the hospitals here in metro Atlanta were doing that anymore.
