  1. Thanks for the help! I will check these out... I found a couple of cute Dickies tops that arent just the standard unisex v-neck that arent too bad... now the hard part is finding these locally since I really do not want to go through ordering them online until I know how they fit! Once I know something will work then ordering online for color, etc isnt that big a deal!!! Off to do some scrub searching :)
  2. Hi Everyone!!!!! I am a new RN and just starting my first job... of all places in the ED! Our dress code says solid bottoms and tops can be print or solid. I work with girls that are a little more on the.... uhhhh... fit side than myself. I am a plus size gal (size 22-24 usually) that is also on the tall side (6')... finding scrubs that dont make me feel and pretty much look like a beached whale have been difficult to find. I tend to carry most of my weight around my mid section and certainly dont have the chest to balance out so I often have a problem with the scrubs hanging and I have to wear a tank top under my tops... I know that I shouldnt worry about how i look at work... and that my patients come first... but...geesh... with as much time as I am at work I would at least like to a little better... Does anyone have any sugggestions?
  3. I managed to stay busy yesterday... but when I got home I couldnt sleep... so I have pretty much been up all night worried sick over my results. I have already tried calling the hotline and I get told that there is no license for my information. The website was already updated this morning... but it takes 2 days for info to show up on that. This waiting is killing me..
  4. I took my NCLEX-RN this morning at 8am... I was done in under an hour and the computer cut me off at 75 questions. I have never doubted myself so much and questioned every choice I made. I had so many meds that I had never heard of and diseases that I question if they are made up. I had about 18 alternative form questions. I am now waiting on my results... with any luck I should be able to call tomorrow morning to get my results. I dont think any amount of practice questions can prepare you for this test... your nerves, etc. I do know that I was scoring very well on all the practice tests and most times could figure out the answer... I had a handful of questions that I could use test taking stratergies on or even general knowledge to solve. Fellow classmates and friends (already RNs) have been trying to reassure me that getting cut off at 75 questions is a very good sign and I really should not be as upset as I am. Good luck to all my fellow test takers out there!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Congrats to everyone that has passed!!!!!!!! I hope I can come in soon and post the same results... testing day is right around the corner... Wednesday @ 8am and I feel so unprepared it isnt funny!!!
  6. You can check out the department of heath professions website for your results https://secure01.virginiainteractive.org/dhp/cgi-bin/search_publicdb.cgi Usally results are up within 48 hrs but some as early as 24 hours later... there is also a number that you can call (I dont have it right here with me though) Good luck with your results!!! Hope you are posting good news very shortly!
  7. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! All the hard work paid off!!!!! It must be a great feeling!
  8. Keeping my fingers crossed for good news for you!!!!! I have heard of many people passing at or around the 175-200 mark so you are def still in the game!!!!! Hope to see you coming back and posting your outstanding results soon!!!
  9. Congrats!!!!!! It is so reassuring to see all the posts coming through with this wonderful news! I test one week from today and hope that I have just as much good news to report back!
  10. CONGRATS!!!!!!!! Your hard work has paid off!!!!! Where are you going to work now as a NURSE???
  11. It just simply met that at 75 questions it wasnt sure if you had passed... think positive though! At 75 questions it knew you had not failed! It might have just needed those 2 extra questions to make sure that you passed it! People have passed at 75 and 265 questions and I am sure there are people that passed at any given other number. Hope you get good news soon!!!
  12. I have heard very few people walk out of the testing center and feel like they passed... the test isnt designed that way!!! Just know that we have our fingers crossed for you and are waiting it out right along with you! When do you find out your results? Think positive and keep your chin up... you have made it a long way already!
  13. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!!
  14. To those that used/are using the Saunders Comprehensive book... did/are you doing the questions at the end of each chapter and/or just the disk questions and testing? I have this book and also the Hurst review book... I just am not sure where I should focus more of time at the moment. I test July 9th & have entered the panic phase!
  15. Good luck tomorrow!!!!!! Try to get some rest tonight... I know... easier said than done!!!! You sound very prepared and ready to go!!!!!!!!
  16. Good luck!!!!!!!!!
  17. I know that I def do not want to change my date... I will be a nervous wreck by the time I got there! I already delayed my date... I really wanted to test in June but knew I was too stressed and I pushed myself out to July when I set my date knowing that the injuries I experienced would be pretty much healed and life would be returning to normal. I do think a good bit of it is stress and just trying to get myself back in the hang of reading the questions, picking up on the important information, blocking out the added info, and figuring out exactly what it is that I need to know. I was just looking through the test taking section of my Saunders book and it has helped me calm down a little bit. I know that have the information there... and when put on the spot I know the answers in a real world setting. I think I am just going to pace myself and work my way through some more of the tests and just do a little review every day... and say a big prayer that it will be enough come July 9th! YIKES!
  18. Hi Everyone!!! I guess this is the club I fit into... testing July 9th @ 8am! I am a nervous wreck! I did great on my HESI tests in school and attended the mandatory review the school did and thought it was very comprehensive but felt very comfortable with the material. Time has gotten away from me and other life complications and I have slacked off in my review... I am freaking out now! I want my RN more than anything and will be sick if I fail because I have no one to blame but myself!!!! Good luck to my fellow July testers... tomorrow starts the month :uhoh21:
  19. Hi Everyone!! I graduated in May... and was involved in a serious car accident the morning of my graduation. It has been a mess trying to recover from it... looking for jobs (that I couldnt really interview for because I was stuck in a wrist cast and they didnt know how long I would be in it, etc)... I am supposed to take my boards on July 9th. When I set my date I wasnt worried.. I felt really comfortable with the content from my school and had done very well on the HESI tests we had. Time has gotten away from me though and I have really slacked in my review materials. I have the Saunders book and just did a practice exam... I only got a little over 60% right... and I was always in the upper 90% before graduation. It has sent me into a panic attack. Should I just keep doing the reviews and quizzes, etc or do you guys think that I should do something more drastic? I could just cry and I am kicking myself for not sticking to my intial plan to review daily before my test.
