  1. No I am not able to appeal this. I have tried.
  2. I have worked for an assisted living as well for almost 6 months. It was the worst job I ever had. I had to jump from building to building to respond to emergency calls. And yes, you are the only nurse there. Work load is super heavy and pay is very little. Do not work there if u don't want to risk losing your license lol. Not worth it!
  3. As long as you have a doctors note to excuse your sickness, by law they can not ask you in details for your sick call. That is my understanding. When I call in sick, they ask what is the reason, I tell them its personal and I just can't share. You leave it at that. You should also check your employee handbook for sick call rules, I'm sure you will find something resourceful.
  4. Hi everyone, I was going to University of Phoenix for my LVN-BSN program for almost 4 years and then I failed a class & was kicked out of the program. Now I'm stuck paying almost 40K in loan, for a degree I did not accomplish. I also went to few colleges in search for a program which would allow me to finish where I had left off at University of Phoenix. Unfortunately I have had a very difficult time because none of the colleges would allow me to start where I had left off. They want me to pay everything all over again and invest another 3-4 years of my time in completing their program. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or perhaps know of a program in California that will allow me to finish my last year of LVN-BSN? I'm willing to relocate if I have to. Please advice. Thank you.
  5. Hi, could you please tell me more about Samuel Merritt college please? I've been looking around for a very good college/uni for a while now and had no luck finding a decent place to study at!! I'm looking to do LVN-BSN program, is this uni worth going 2? Please tell me as much as u can. Thanks.
  6. THanks commuter. I think I'll just leave it at 'open' when I apply for applications next time. I'm in san jose, so I'm not sure how much the pay rate is at every facility ...writing open sounds much better n easier lol.
  7. Thanks. I wrote down open as u suggested. :)
  8. Hello guys, today was the first day I picked up a job application!! :) I'm nervous cuz tomo I'm going to turn it in. Wish me goodluck.
  9. What is the hourly rate of pay for a LVN/LPN in bay area? I was filling out my first application and it's asking salary desired but I'm not sure what I should write down?? What would be start of pay for a new nurse with no LVN/LPN experience at all? How much did you start off with when you started your first job as a LPN?
  10. Your very welcome. Yes, that should be more then enough.
  11. sweetmya replied to Chasity Bell's topic in LPN to RN
I did LPN and wish I had went straight to RN!! It's hard to find a job as a LPN so it's best to go straight into RN since RNs get hired much easily. :)
  12. Please just focus on practicing questions!! THis is one of the best sources for RN questions to practice on. http://libtc.utmb.edu/nclexrn3500/mainMenu.do;jsessionid=E6928F806D5DBAAE657528E35606B099 Do atleast 100-150 questions a day for 2-3 months. Also practice questions from exam cram cd!! Try not to add too many different sources..2-3 should be enough!! GOODLUCK
