Anyone else waiting to hear from San Diego State University?
I sent in a petition to do a repeat of a course I already passed so that I can aim for an A in it. But SWC denied it. They said that I can't take it over unless it's relapsed for 5 yrs or more. Well than how is anyone here suppose to improve their points? I can take the teas over to improve points. But is that all I can do? since every class for pre-req hasn't been 5 yrs yet? I'm stuck in a rut guys....I want to improve my score, but I can't...help...what should I do. I usually know what to do for everything....I'm lost now. =( I'll try to study for my teas to aim for better score. I can try petitioning at SDSU and take a pre-req there and hope they don't deny me. But as of now...what?? any suggestions? tell me what would YOU do?

Anyone else waiting to hear from San Diego State University?
nope..I just called right now to make sure what they meant by completing a list. I asked if it were just the list for TODAY or for the entire Fall. They're done with the calls for the Fall. It's officially. It's done. I asked them about a letter to mail out to us. They said no. they are only doing calls instead. Letters will be mailed out to those who got in later.

I just hope they remember to use my CNA for the experience part...and not count my volunteering. The secretary was suppose to make a sticky note to mention this. I hope she didn't forget.

Thank you Alexischristine, I have a 69. And my teas was 81.2% my cum is 3.17 and my GPA is 3.52. If I don't get in...then I'll be taking one of my B's over to make them into A's and maybe scoring higher on my teas. =( no call yet. We'll just have to wait and see.. congrats Alexischristine!

This sucks..time is going by too slow. I'm making plans for fall semester alrdy..but cant fully confirm them..cus of chances nursing school might be in the way.

Fall 09 hopefuls?
where are you applying? sdsu & swc what is your gpa and/or points for your school of choice? cum gpa: 3.16/ (69 of 77) w/an 81.2% on teas. =( is this good? when is your schools deadline? swc: don't remember but i've been waiting a yr already. sdsu: april 15th, 2009 when does the acceptance letters go out? mid june to early july. what is your plan a, b, c...? re-do some pre-reqs and work on my minor. apply again. umm...i honestly don't know after that.

I am also waiting to get into SDSU's SON. And I'm soo nervous! I'm happy to be going to SDSU now as well. I wish it were mid June already! I just really badly wanna know!

What classes are you taking for Fall2009
If I don't get into nursing school this coming fall..I will be taking classes to fulfill my minor in psychology and/or re-doing any pre-reqs (I wish getting B's were good enough...apparently NOT). Hang in there everyone!

Anybody Still Waiting?
I'm still waiting also..and it's literally driving me crazy. No. REALLY. :SIGH: ..either that or it's my QLC thats giving me a few 1, 2 knock out punches. But yes, I'm waiting still. Submitted my app for Fall 09 before April 15th when it was due. It's now May (what a draag). This semester ends this coming wk. I emailed the school of nursing and they said it'd be early June when they can calc the grades...so we'd find out if we get in or not late June to early July. I really wanna know soo badly. I'm kind've nervous though because I'm barely hitting the GOOD STANDING mark...but I did surpass the cut off. So I still got a chance! If I don't get in the school of my choice..I'll go with my second. As for classes...I'll probably take classes to fulfill my minor and/or choose which of my pre-reqs I want to redo to improve my score for next time (next time? boy...that doesn't sound so appealing...this process of getting into nursing school is taking FOREVER).

Should I? Is it possible?
is anyone here in the reserves? I'm thinking of joining the USCG reserve. I'm fr. SD, so I'd be stationed at home. I have a yr and more on waiting list for both schools I plan to attend....so this gives me time to get bootcamp over with and be wrking desk wrk on base while I attend school. I just hope the timing is right. I'll be back before my own schedule date for myself to take phlebotomy hits. I just can't be waiting around like this...I'm not getting any younger. I'm done with all my pre-reqs. Finished CNA. Next spring I plan to take phlebotomy..as I mentioned earlier. But what then? I feel like I'm wasting time. I need to know my next move. With the reserves..I wont feel like I'm wasting any time... they'll allow you to go to school at the same time...you only wrk once a month-"can't do it b/c I have an exam coming up?" they said I could make up the day I missed..for wrk...soo I can still put priority on any schooling. so anyone here in the military and waiting to get accepted to a nursing school? how is it like? is it possible? I'm soo confused and sad. I shouldn't be..I'm on vacation right now in NM and will be heading to texas in a few hrs. But instead i keep mopping about my future. am I putting my nursing career dream @ risk? How long can you have completed classes...till they need to be done over again?

anyone done with pre-reqs?
what are you doing now? what extra classes are you or will you take? I was suppose to register for classes this week...but have not a clue what I should take next. suggestions? I stress out more not doing anything. I dnt want to regret wasting this fall semester. What do you think about med terminology? is it useful? or can I do without.
-
Denial!!!
have you taken ALL of your pre-reqs? you should take CNA its about 7 units...easy "A" (took mine in Cali)...its mainly common sense. But it sure boost up my GPA! Plus its something you'll appreciate learning since it gives you insight in the nursing world.

phlebotomy tech
do CNA...it's a pre-req for many community colleges. It'll just open up more doors for you to apply for ADN programs.
