How many residents do you care for Per Shift?
I also work in LTC/Rehab. I work both 7-3 shift and 11-7 shift. For me, the morning shift is more stressful. I never knew the stress in LTC. I thought it was about the residents but, I don't think it is. I just pray and ask God for the strength to make it through. I love being a nurse, it's rewarding for me. All the extra is a bit much but, every job has that..Good luck and hang in there.

MCI LPN Program
I did pass my boards. I am working in LTC. I'm adjusting to the life as a LPN & I must say I am enjoying it very much. Not in a hurry to get my RN, I want to work for a year and then go back. I want to enjoy this part, the part I've worked so hard for. Anyone out there, working towards their RN yet?

New LPN, Job Hunting
I just passed my boards and got my license...I am now a LPN. I worked so hard to accomplish this. I also worked full time while going to school. The journey was long & hard. At times I wanted to give up but, didn't. Now I'm on the hunt for employment as a LPN. It is not easy!!!! Everyone wants someone with experience but, how do you get the experience? I taking off my full time job to put in applications, going to career builders.com to apply for different jobs. I want to work full-time as a nurse, to get out there. I know that something will come, I'll even take 2 part-time, PRN. It's so hard here in the Hampton Roads area!!!! I'm not giving up!!! I just want a chance!!! I need that MED-SURG experience. I want to do LTC & eventually be a HOSPICE NURSE(RN). Anyone with any tips, any help would be appreciated. On a side note, for everyone that graduated from MCI NN - Congrats!!!! For all MCI NN students - You can do it!!!! Keep the faith!!!

Nervous about finishing
I am a LPN student at MCI NNews and I am so nervous about finishing. I've been on Xmas break returning back on the 5th. I have 228 and Leadership left. Praying that I graduate on April 27th. I work full-time as well. I've been having these thoughts about being a failure and not accomplishing anything. No one in my family is in the health field. My desire is to be a nurse:nurse:. I feel like that is what I'm called to do. Everyone tells me how proud they are. I'm the type of person I don't depend on others alot. I've always been indepent, I'm an only child. Alot of times here lately I find myself being very distant. I want to know I can accomplish something in my life that is good and positive. I want to be able to give back. Just feeling overwhelmed:cry:

MCI RN and LPN Program
I'm not for sure on that. I am in the LPN program at MCI. I just found out that we have to take the Hesi test. I have never heard of that before. We have to take it in 228, which is next term. I wanted to know if anyone from MCI has already taken it. What is it about, how to prepare for it. Any suggestions would be helpful. To all the the ladies that are handling their business, trying to make a difference in this world, keep your head up!!!! We can do it!!!! We will be nurses:yeah:

Pressing Forward
I attend MCI - LPN program. Looking to grad in April. However, it's time to be an uphill battle. I just finished Reproductive and Immune. Anyone have any advise for studying for Endocrine. Everyone says look out for Endocrine. There are times I want to pull my hair out. Working full - time, family and my dream to be a nurse. Looking for some advise for when you feel like throwing in the towel. I didn't do all that great on my Immune test.
-
I am taking my NCLEX-PN on Tuesday
You'll do great on the test. What PN book/CD are u using to study for test. I am about to start the Endocrine System this week. I grad in April. Got any pointers.

Desperate for help
I am sorry u didn't pass the first time. Stay strong, focused. I know having a full-time job and children can be alot. I am in the same boat but, we can do it. Study and believe in yourself.
