I started with Ncsbn right after I graduated in May to be honest it didn't help me at all the questions that I had was not even close to Nclex maybe because I had a lot of sata. Then I started listening to Hurst after ncsbn expired just to get my patho down, I did Hurst practice questions a week before my test to gauge my knowledge on the material, but outside Hurst I do practice questions from Ati, nclex rn mastery. 5 days before my test I started doing Kaplan I alternate it with Hurst and Lacharity. Kaplan is more similar to nclex, but Kaplan questions are harder than nclex.

Hi... I've been a lurker of this site for a long time. I took my test last week barely slept the night before the test I kept tossing around my bed. I was never been so anxious like this before that I literally cried in my car when I got to the testing center and saw PEARSONVUE:no: I'm glad I didn't have an explosive diarrhea . I prayed so hard I called my prayer warriors to pray for me. I checked in at the testing center and I claimed that I pass and I'll stop at 75, I told myself Nclex is just a formality. First 10 questions were so easy it's a knowledge based questions after that I got all SATA questions. I would say a good 35-40 SATA out of 75 questions I didn't get a lot of prioritization & delegation (my strongest area ). SATA were not that bad, if you know your patho/disease process, interventions and teaching points its easy to answer it, although I'm not a big fan of SATA:madface:. You can easily eliminate wrong answers on the choices just do TRUE/FALSE. I didn't get any math questions I got drag & drop, exhibit, picture/img. Medications /Pharm I didn't study for it, there's no way I will remember all the medications, during Nclex I got medication questions that were very common on the unit its all in generic names. (Don't freak out you got this) Based on my Nclex test whether its SATA, prioritization & delegation I was tested in content areas of fundamentals, pedi, ob, psych, med surg & management, again its not that bad its what you and I learned from nursing school. When I was on my #75th question I mentally prepared myself I might get another question after 75, when I hit submit a blank blue screen appeared. Took me to do the survey. When I got in my car I tried the pvt, got a good pop up, but I was a little skeptical because of the questions that I had paid for quick result after 48 hours. My preparation prior to NCLEX: I did Hurst review I didn't finish all the test bank questions I only did 4 out of 6 (scores: 75, 78, 86, 95). A good friend of mine let me borrowed her access code to Kaplan I only did 2 sets of 75 (54% & 62%). Since I'm working I bought an app for my phone & ipad its RN Nclex Mastery its very convenient whenever I get the chance I do practice questions. I also did NCSBN, I also used Prioritization and Delegation of La Charity. During nursing school my Hesi exit exam score 950 while my ati predictor test I have 87% of passing Nclex the first time. Hurst Review- it helped me retained information about disease process /patho/ interventions (their southern accent help ) Kaplan - It helped me answer questions like Nclex style, in my opinion Kaplan questions were more similar to Nclex, but you have to know your patho to answer their questions so you need Hurst as well lol. NCSBN - Their practice questions were a lot harder than the real Nclex (YEP no kidding:yes:) ATI practice questions - I used it just to see my weak areas, where I needed to focus in my studying. In my opinion Nclex was not hard as I thought it would be I even think I failed because in my head I'm getting easy questions I was waiting for questions that were really really hard. Since I've taken HESI, ATI, Hurst & Kaplan their test questions were way harder compared to Nclex. I guess what really helped me for this test I have a good understanding of patho/disease process. During my time in nursing school I really focus on patho, because when you know your patho on the back of your head you know what interventions, medications & teachings you need to do for your pt. Everything you learned from nursing school will come back to you during the test. I don't follow certain schedule I'm not good at it I get sleepy whenever I start studying I rather do practice questions than study (RN Nclex mastery/Saunders/La Charity). I study whenever I can, I have a pocket size book of pathophysiology that I carry around so whenever I do practice questions and I encounter a question that I don't remember the disease process I go and read it from my pocketbook, due to my work I don't really have a lot of time to study, I have hosp. classes that I have to go to and I started training on the unit working 12 hours a shift 3 times a week, and I have a family to care for when I get home. Since I'm bilingual and English is not my first language I was very cautious in answering the question coz I have to translate the questions & answers in my own language prior to choosing the right answer/s, I read the questions twice, find the keyword in the question (positive or negative)(ABC) (Maslow Hierarchy) etc. think the patho & interventions in my head, read the choices eliminate two wrong answers right away think patho & interventions again contemplating between the two remaining answers if I don't/do this intervention am I gonna kill the pt., is the pt. status will gonna change for good/bad, what is the outcome for this pt. if I choose this answer. And most importantly stick with your first choice never change your answer I always struggle on this area I'm always second guessing myself, but for this test I veered away from it. It took me an hour and half including Nclex tutorial to finished my test. The most important thing of all I prayed to God not just for myself, but for my classmates to pass in their Nclex. Took my test on the 14th did pvt got a good pop up, 48 hours later I found out I passed.

Buy Test Success by Davis it will prepare you how to answer critical thinking type of questions for your test. Get a good calendar so you can write your schedule for the whole semester. Read a head of time, if you're comfortable studying with someone find a study buddy, 2 friends at the most and make sure you study/read your ppt. and books 2 weeks before your test. Never procrastinate!!! Two days before your test just do practice questions lots of it make sure you read the rationale, if you can buy Saunders nclex books (yellow and the blue cover) it's very helpful. If you have Hesi for your final exam I suggest you get the Hesi Nclex book too. Pray and relax if you feel overwhelm take a time to pamper yourself go out with your family or friends, but never do it 2 days before your exam never start a bad habit in nursing school that you might regret in the end. During the test if you experience test anxiety just close your eyes take a deep breath and exhale slowly do it for full minute. (This always works for me, it calms me and clear my mind) think positive and always claim that you already pass the semester. Never dwell on negative thoughts! Good luck!

hi im kinda confuse is TEAS and A2 are almost the same exam needed to take to get accepted in nursing program? coz I already took my TEAS or do I still need to take A2 after I finish all my nursing pre-reqs subjects? Thanks for reading this. Any response is highly appreciated!

hi ladies pls. help i want to take refresher course in math i'm going to take my pre-reqs this spring, what kind of math should i take to prepare me for nursing? i suck in math esp. college algebra but I A's my business math i took it few years ago when I was still in college. Im willing to retake any kind of math if I had too. What math should i take? thanks-
