  1. I was just in the same boat as you--studied all the books saunders--kaplan--and failed--took the kaplan qbank and my percentage was 75% to..just took the 2nd test went the hole way of 205 question again and thought for sure i failed--got my results on nove 14 and i passed..so kaplan qbank helped me so much--i read the question on the test twice and thought about the answers and did alot of praying lol you can do it just believe in yourself
  2. I have gotten the Kaplan course for L.PN. and it got me through the test--failed the first time--studied the normal books you buy (didn't help me a bit) saunders--
  3. I just paid for the Kaplan online is it worth the money:twocents: did it help you--
  4. I took the lpn nclex and failed i had what would you do first and the pts. had more then one thing wrong with them--the i had everything from older pts--pregnant pts--babys--drugs--math--and most but not least pneuominic plague--and for the first hour i had to listenn to a girl typing next to me--talk about distraction

:crying2:Iam a graduate LPN of may 2009--took my nclex test aug 15 2009--and was not totally prepared for this test-nothing in school prepared me for this-I was asked everything from who would you see first--to the pneuonic plague and everything in between--as you may of guessed I failed--Iam noow in the crying depressed stage and all I think about is how dumb I feel--so does any one have any suggestion on what to study and if anyone ever felt this way....i feel so down on myself...
  6. wow vicki--where were you when i went to nursing school--which I may add I just graudated june 19th--my instructors are nothing like in what you wrote--mine degraded-demoralized--picked--laughted at you--talked about you--Iam amazed I lasted in the program, because there were plenty of times I wanted to quit..Its nice to know there are caring educators in the nursing profession
  7. to juliepag plz go back iam 55 and Iam graudating in june as a LPN and going on to RN and going on--find the courage in yourself to follow what you want--if you don't you will always wonder what might have been..take the time out for you....
  8. old is only state of mind
  9. OM GOSH---You are NEVER to old Iam 56 grad---in june as LPN LOL (maybe) and plan of being RN--Never to late....Never to old
  10. I only stated on the write up paper that the team leader was with me (which she was) and I didn't do anything wrong
  11. excatley how I put it --nothing is missing got wrote up for what could of happened
  12. Hi---Can I get some opions on this situation--I was wrote up yesterday at school because at clinicals I went in to do A accu check on a pt. at 1600 hrs. She was to receive her med at 1630, the accu check was done and her levels were high, I looked at her chart and knew this level was not right for this pt. I then when to the RN in charge of this pt. and told her the levels were high, she asked me to do them over so in the process of doing them my (nasty) instructor came in grabed the accu check out of my hands and did it her self, the next day she calls me in her office and tells me to sign a paper that put me on corrective action for what could of been--she screamed to me do you know that you could of bottomed her out and my statement was that is why I did another accu check to make sure of the situation, the pt. was not harmed in any way ,( no meds were given)but I was put on corrective action for what could of been....I was so up set :cry:that Iam ready to call it quits and I have 41 days left to graduate...Is there any decent instructors out there or do we have all the nasty one at our school....
  13. Iam in clinicals and have 4 months to go and into med surg---and iam so stressed I want to quit--please tell me this is normal because Iam on the edge of calling it quits....:heartbeat Ps. Need a good simple site of drug calcuations:bowingpur
  14. wow daytonite---what a response-but i agree with the rest a unprofessional instructor can make you question yourself (what the h--l am i doing here) as you see I have three such instructor but iam a firm believer in karma--what goes around comes around and my instructors times are coming..there is no need to talk about the students (like how stupid they are) play favorites to some and to hell with the rest..BUT AS you see these unprofessional instructors are NOT going to get me down..I will beat them at their game...

Maybe some one can clear my mind about this--I did my first Med pass in a hospital as a student nurse..Our instructor was yelling at us for not knowing what drug we were giving , the use, the side affect, the generic drug and why this pt. was getting it...plus did wound care--put a IV in and a foley cath in a 86 yr old man---I was so stressed--at the end of the day I felt like i Needed to be on the 5th floor (mental ward) On my way home I was wondering why Iam doing this--and then to hear it all over again in class today in front of the other students..If any one get the same treatment like this please tell me this is the norm because Iam beginning to wonder WHAT THE HE-- iam doing in this line of work.....
  16. :nurse:You re NEVER to old--iam 55 and in LPN school grad. in june (hopefully) and Iam following my dream --You can do anything you want to do age doesn't count..

  18. I loved your article and good luck--Iam going to be a LPN at the age of 55 and yes iam the oldest one in my class, but like you iam determined..So good luck in all your travels.....

thank you---Yes I agree with you--but the thing I guess I should explain is that the students range in age from 18 to 55 and the ones inbetween are the worst--now this girl is 30 so i guess she should know better, the dirty language comes out much to often and the instructors just turn the other way..we are to do clinicals soon in a hospital and i want to see what kind of monsters appear..and i bet the instructor will whistle a different tune when their reputationis on the line

I just don't know what you mean---I don't think patients wold have a reason to brown nose--brown nosers do it for attention ...and no i wouldn't cjange my opinion of her---like the saying goes if it quacks then its a duck...
  21. just got out of class and I guess I need to vent..Have anyone of you just tired of brown nosing students..God Iam--this girl just gets to me--she not only says rude things to pts. but she makes it like she is little miss innocent.. cries if she doesn't make a A on test and even crys in clinicals becauseshe is scared and our instructors are freakin blind to this ---I guess they like the coments she makes to them or else leeches on them..sorry but I think I had it..she sure doesn't take the hint. or else iam getting stressed out...
  22. wow that was explained well--and no iam not charting that way-what they want gets changed so often that we are confused on wha t and how it is to be done.-we are in a nursing home so does nursing home charting different then hospital charting--it seems we have to put what they ate and how much, when i think iam doing ok--guess what iam not..does it take time to reach your charting potential...iam a student LPN chart from head to toe
