You are certainly on the right track. My class of 36 girls all passed but two using saunders 4th edition and the two that didn't pass were having personal problems at home. I did between 1-200 questions every day for about a week and a half before the test (RN) and if I didn't know the answer I didn't just click the button and look at it, I looked it up in the saunders book (key element). If you read it, write it and do it you will have a better understanding of it! Good luck!:nuke:

I can only speak for the girls in my class, but we all pretty much used Saunders fourth edition. Some used exam cram a little but most used saunders. We only had two girls fail (out of 36) and both of them were having some personal issues at the time. I studied for about a week and a half for boards using saunder and the cd that came with it. My advice is to go through the question on the cd. If there is one you don't know look it up don't just look at the right answer. I did about 100-200 questions per day, i got the minimum number of questions and was done in under an hour! Good Luck you can do it, just relax and take your time!

You have probably seen me on other threads. I am 100% behind Saunders. This book got almost my entire class through HESI and now 8 of us (so far that's all that has taken it) through NCLEX! It is a wonderful book broken down into systems. I would do the CD and make note of what you don't remember or don't know then reference it to the book. It is amazing how many things will come back to you when you start reviewing. Well wishes on your NCLEX!:nuke:

I passed my first time with 75 questions and I only studied for about a week to a week and a half using saunders and very little exam cram. I have spoken with several other women I graduated with and they are only using saunders. We discovered Saunders when we learned we had to take the HESI and people were failing it that were using the actual HESI review books. So far out of I believe 8 that have taken it, we all passed! I 100% recommend Saunders! :)

I live in Illinois, took my nclex on July 2nd and got my letter from continental testing July 10th. Hope that helps!

No, we all feel that way! I studied for aprox. 1week to 1 1/2 weeks doing nothing but saunders and a little exam cram. I passed the first time taking about an hour to complete the test with no breaks. Just remember, it's not what you know but what you can do with questions as far as breaking them down to the root and deciding the best answer! Well wishes!:nuke:

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? I had 75 questions. Alot of priority, SATA and delegation. I had no calculations. 2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? I did Saunders 4th edition and very little exam cram. Saunders is awesome! 3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? WE had to take the HESI. I used Saunders for it too. 4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? I had to wait a grueling and painful 48 hours! 5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I just knew I had failed! I called everyone and told them I had failed and would be studying for the next month. Then I turned off my phone for 48 hours til I found out! 6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yes Just remember, you can do it! This is what you have been preparing for. You don't have to know everything about everything, you just have to know how to think your way through questions! Just relax. There is no way of predicting what questions you will get but if you are too nervous to concentrate it doesn't really matter anyway! I wish you well. Do something nice for yourself tomorrow so you can clear your mind and have some "me" time.:nuke:

i took my boards on july 2 and just found out i passed. i studied for about a week and a half. i did questions from saunders 4th edition and exam cram rn (mainly saunders-i wasn't as impressed with exam cram). i didn't do as many as i could have probably 100 per day or so. i also did some questions out of a prioritization, assigment, delegation book i had. while i was doing the questions, i would also look up the ones i missed to kind of refresh myself on that material. i got 75 questions on the nclex. they were all prioritization, delegation and select all that apply. i didn't get any calculations or what i would consider "basic" questions (but who knows what they consider basic) and it took me around an hour to complete. just remember everyone has a different test. it is "adaptive" to you. keep your confidence up and know that you are doing all you can to prepare. and remember, sometimes you can over study as well and burn yourself out before you even get to the actual test so treat yourself well and listen to your body and mind when it says it's time for a break. this test is not impossible it is just different. it can be passed! and it feels wonderful seeing the word pass online! my teachers said it best when they told us not to worry about the number of questions we get because as long as we are getting them, we are still in the game. it just means the computer hasn't determined if we are going to be safe nurses yet! good luck and i hope everyone keeps us updated on the results!:heartbeat

i took mine on the second too and just found out at 8 a.m. that i passed!!!! that waiting was the most awful two days of stress ever! good luck to everyone finding out today!:loveya:

this is my first post on here but i have been reading everyone elses posts for a long time in preperation for my rn nclex. i just wanted to say thank you to everyone who posts on here because your kind words and support are the only thing that kept me from feeling like a complete failure! i found out just now that i passed!!!! and i am so relieved since i have been up since two in the morining anticipating having to tell all my friends and family i failed. if it wasn't for the grace of god, alot of prayer and everyone telling me to keep my head up in computer land i am not sure how i would have made it the last 48 hours! so thank you! to everyone who is waiting on your results and who haven't taken it yet, good luck and though it's easier said than done, stay positive.
