  1. My course won't let me take time out-Count yourself lucky.. Congrats by the way.
  2. I have talked about the G.I while eating lunch, in great detail til someone told me to shut up. (revision) I told the tale of a woman who had poop on her hands and was trying to touch my hair and face, then go and eat Chocolate. I speak to causal about my studies, forgetting others don't like the grossness of the human body! :OP
  3. i got into a mini argument over who should be admired more- mary or [color=#0000cc]florence.. i personal say mary as i prefer her easy, hands on approach, rather then the structured "know your place and the rules" for good service that florence practiced.. what do you guys think? or do you hold another nurse in higher esteem?
  4. Okie, for my end of year exam I have to write up care plans. I am okie at them, but the only problem is that it needs to be "Evidence based". I can have 10 references written down that I can take into the exam and was wondering if anyone can reccomand good books about care plans to me?.. I got some about "Ropers ADL" and "surgery post op care". Thank you. Oh and the patients are random, so it could be about pain to Parkinson's.
  5. Thank you all guys. It did clear up some confusion I had. :op
  6. What is a CNA..? I guess a person who should have more sense then that huh?..
  7. In my second placement someone hid a lot of tramadol in a bag under the nursing desk, though didn't have a chance to take it. It made Tramadol a CD and the staff suspious of each other for weeks after. No one found out who or why. Sweet mystery of life.
  8. PERRLA?.. What does that stand for?
  9. How do you prevent a stroke from getting any worse? I know that a patient is supposed to call an Ambalance and they test using the FAST method, but what do they do for the patient once they are in hospital to conteract the damage? Do they give the patient thrombolysis only?..Or Asprian?.. I am a second year student and a little confused over the issue. Help please!
  10. Hello there Everyone, I have a personal problem..I have been bleeding for 5 weeks on what my doctor said was "A normal period". The thing is, I have an "Implant" in, so stopped having periods 18 months ago, and this one came on quite suddenly. I also have piles so have been bleeding from my back enterance- Bearing in mind, I am only 20, this worried me, as it has became painful to pass, and the blood is quite frequent (nearly everytime I pass). My blood pressure has fallen quite a lot (Last reading was 99/74, usually it is 120ish) and my pulse is high (in the 100's). I am in a panic as the doctors seem to think I am worring about nothing, though I feel myself getting weak and suffering from fatigue. I am difficult to rouse and usually full of beans. And I have stomach cramps as well, quite badly. The only "advise" was eat more iron for the loss of blood, and more fibre for the bowel movement..No examination at all! Can you guys give me advise/Questions to ask the doctor?
  11. Thanks for the advice guys
  12. I was in a chest clinic yesterday and the consultant told me that if a patient has oxygen saturations of 100% on air and they are not in an anxious state then it is too high. It should be 98 or 99 % max and 100% shows that the person is not breathing properly. Has anyone else heard this?
